Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers Same Game Parlay Picks
This Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers’ first-quarter same-game parlay for the In-Season Tournament knockout round includes the Phoenix Suns’ First Quarter/Moneyline, Austin Reaves hitting fewer than two three-pointers, and Kevin Durant scoring eight or more points in the first quarter.
Leg 1: Phoenix Suns First Quarter/Moneyline (+210)
Sure, it is an away game for the Phoenix Suns, and yes, they have dropped both games to the Los Angeles Lakers this season; however, the absence of Devin Booker played a massive role in those losses.
With Booker in the lineup, Phoenix boasts a 9-2 record and a team shooting split of 49/42/84, which makes it one of the most unstoppable offensive squads in the league. This isn’t a particularly small sample size, either; the Suns have shot the ball this well over the course of 11 games, proving that they are elite with Durant and Booker healthy.
As for the Los Angeles Lakers, they are 2-2 in their past four games, with wins over Detroit on the road and Houston at home. The Rockets are winless away from their home floor, and the Pistons have only won two games all season; Los Angeles should beat these teams. Unfortunately, the Lakers got pummeled in the other two games by Oklahoma City and Philadelphia by a combined 77 points.
This team has been able to hide their disarray and lack of cohesion recently because of the Detroit and Houston games, but we anticipate that they will struggle in this spot to lead at the end of the first quarter and to win the game.
Leg 2: Kevin Durant 8+ First Quarter Points (+115)
If Kevin Durant’s 39 and 38 points in his first two games this season against the Los Angeles Lakers aren’t enough to convince you that he’s in for a massive game, perhaps these numbers will.
Durant has averaged 9.3 points in the first quarter through his first 18 games this season, including a shooting split of 58/63/88 on roughly six field goal attempts. KD tends to play nearly the entire quarter, too, averaging just shy of 11 minutes of play in the first quarters.
In two games against the Lakers this year, Durant has averaged even more, posting ten points in the first quarter and playing every minute of it, as well. Further, KD averaged eight field goal attempts in those two bouts.
Expect Durant to get going early in this matchup versus the Lakers, a team that he has had terrific success against so far this season. And anytime KD plays against LeBron, we are bound to see fireworks.
Leg 3: Austin Reaves Under 1.5 Threes (-166)
It has been tough sledding for Austin Reaves since he was moved to a bench role for this Lakers team. Reaves has failed to hit two or more threes in seven consecutive games and in nine of his past ten.
During that stretch, Reaves has shot just 22.9% from behind the arc, meaning that he would need to shoot more than eight three-pointers per game, on average, to get to this line. Sometimes, shooting slumps happen unexpectedly, but other times, it can be a change in role, minutes, and situation (starter versus role player) that can trigger them.
In this case, Reaves is a good fade, especially since he has only averaged 3.5 three-point attempts per game in the past ten games.
