Texas A&M vs Tennessee Betting Odds
TAMU has shocked the world, picking up a seven-game win streak since losing eight in a row in the middle of the SEC season.
The Aggies are playing top-notch ball right now, and now playing for an SEC Tournament Title. Although they should see some shooting regression.
Meanwhile, Tennessee has won 13 of its last 15 games. Kennedy Chandler has transformed this team into a powerhouse.
Tennessee is a big favorite entering the championship game. But, are the Wildcats deserving of that line?
Texas A&M Aggies Odds
Tyrece Radford decided it was his time to ball. He’s averaged 11 points and 5 rebounds during the run, and he’s been lights out from 3.
As has been the rest of the Aggie team. In the three-game SEC tournament stretch, TAMU shot 25-for-48 (52%) from 3. The Aggie opponents shot 17-for78 from 3 during that stretch, good for a 22% clip.
I don’t want to discredit the Aggies run, as I believe Buzz Williams’ team has been rather impressive. However, I am unsure if I want to bet the Aggies moving forward.
Texas A&M has won eight straight games. ShotQuality projects that six of those should’ve been lost based on the quality of shots taken and allowed.
It’s clear TAMU is due for regression. It’s just unclear when it will arrive. TAMU fans are hoping after this championship game.
Tennessee Volunteers Odds
Tennessee has turned its season around. And it’s because of Kennedy Chandler.
Chandler had an inefficient season scoring, mostly because he’s a freshman attempting to transition into D-I basketball. However, his playmaking improved the level of the Tennessee offense immediately.
Chandler was 50th nationally in assist rate this season, finding Santiago Vescovi (13.4 PPG, 115.4 ORtg) and John Fulkerson (7.4 PPG,115 ORtg) plenty.
Rick Barnes gave Chandler the keys to the offense, and it paid off in the end.
Chandler does what it takes to win. Whether it’s piling up assists, grabbing rebounds, or scoring buckets. In the semi-final against Kentucky, Chanlder dropped 19 points on 8-for-16 from the field with three assists and three rebounds.
Texas A&M vs Tennessee Prediction and Pick
TAMU was able to upset Arkansas on the back of turnovers. The Aggies forced 15 Arkansas turnovers while allowing just 13 assists.
I think TAMU can do it again. Because the Aggies will be playing against the Vols, who had the seventh highest turnover rate in the SEC this season (19.6%).
The Aggies were able to keep it within 10 on the Vols’ home floor, I don’t see how they can’t keep it within six on a neutral court.
I love Texas A&M to keep it close on Sunday afternoon in the SEC Final.
