Kansas State has been one of the biggest surprises this year in all of college basketball. Jerome Tang is in the running for Coach of the Year too. Keyontae Johnson has been incredible for Kansas State this year. He’s one of the best stories in college basketball and also leads the team in scoring and rebounding for the season. Markquis Nowell has been a very good point guard for Kansas State this year and leads the team in assists and steals on the season. Nae’Qwan Tomlin has a key piece down low and leads the team in blocks too. Desi Sills is another key piece for the Wildcats that’s performed when needed.

As a team, Kansas State is very solid on both offense and defense and doesn’t excel at any one side or the other.

On the other side, Texas has been very good this year too, despite the off-court issues that plagued the team at the beginning of the season. Marcus Carr is a star for the Longhorns and leads the team in scoring, assists, and steals on the year. Sir’Jabari Rice has been one of the best sixth man’s in the country and is the second-leading scorer for Texas. Timmy Allen and Tyrese Hunter have also both been very good for Texas this year, and Allen also leads the Longhorns in rebounding.

As a team, Texas is solid on offense, but excels more on defense. They have the ability to shut teams down when needed which is a big advantage for them moving forward.

This is going to be a battle between two very good teams. Kansas State is the pick here because they’re the home team. That’s a huge factor in a conference as loaded and competitive as the Big 12 is. The Wildcats should cover and win outright.

He’ll be matched up against Timmy Allen most of the game who averages 11 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds per game for the season. Johnson is Kansas State’s best player, but Timmy Allen is also very good too. This is an interesting matchup because these two players are very similar and whoever wins this matchup has the inside track to win this game.

Marcus Carr vs Desi Sills

Marcus Carr has been great this year for Texas. He averages 17 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds per game for the season. He’ll be matched up against Desi Sills most of the game, who averages 8 points, 2 assists, and 3 rebounds per game for the season. Carr has been great this year and Sills has a big task ahead of him to take on Marcus Carr. This matchup should be interesting because Carr is the best player Texas has and it will be interesting to see if Sills can do anything to stop him.
