Top 5 Fantasy Matchups to Target in Week 16: Amari Cooper Ready To Eat Against Eagles Secondary

I will take a look at the worst defenses of Week 16 and provide an in-depth look on borderline names to get a bump or just overall strong matchups where we could see ceiling games from players. If you are looking for player rankings for Week 16, you can find them here, as well as waiver wire adds. Anything fantasy football related can be found here.

Dallas Cowboys Pass Offense Vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Dallas CowboysThe Eagles secondary continues to give up big games, and this dates back to last season. This was a hole that didn’t get fixed, and it has shown continuously throughout the season. Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup are in a great spot this week to get ahead in the division, and it is a monster game for both teams. Philadelphia is allowing the third most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers this season. Over the last five weeks, the Eagles have allowed a 58-876-8 line to opposing wide receivers. In that span, they have played New England, Seattle, Miami, New York, and Washington. It was more the last three offenses that did the damage. They have allowed a 100-yard receiver in three straight games. Since joining Dallas, Cooper has had 106, 217, and 75 receiving yards games.

Seattle Seahawks Pass Offense Vs. Arizona Cardinals

Seattle SeahawksSeattle has the highest implied total on the week (30.5) and this is a game where Seattle can dominate. Russell Wilson has been a bit quiet of late, but that will change this week. Arizona is allowing 7.7 yards per attempt, and 290.4 passing yards per game. No team has allowed more passing touchdowns per game than the Cardinals (34), and Arizona is a pace up team as well. Quarterbacks are averaging 27 fantasy points per game against the Cardinals this season, and both tight ends and receivers have thrived as well. Jacob Hollister is in a great spot this week with the Cardinals allowing an 84-1023-15 line to tight ends this season. Receivers are averaging the 12th most fantasy points per game, mainly because touchdowns have gone more towards tight ends than receivers. They have registered the third most receptions against Arizona.

Cincinnati Bengals Vs. Miami Dolphins

Cincinnati BengalsWhile the offenses are below average, there are good enough options to take advantages of the poorer defenses. Looking at the wide receivers, Tyler Boyd is in a great spot against the Dolphins, who rank dead last against the pass, and are allowing the second most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Miami has also allowed the third most fantasy points per game to running backs, putting Joe Mixon in a strong spot. They have allowed 140 rushing yards per game, and 4.6 yards per carry this season. On the flip side of this one, the Bengals rank bottom five against the pass. DeVante Parker continues to produce with Ryan Fitzpatrick and I like their upside once again here. This game is sitting with a reasonable 46 over/under to take advantage of.

Denver Broncos Vs. Detroit Lions

Denver BroncosDenver’s offense has not been on to target this season, but at home against a putrid Detroit defense will change that. They have a pedestrian 22 implied total, but the upside is there. Drew Lock can build upon a plus matchup late in the year, as they will get Oakland next week too. Detroit has allowed the 5th most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. They have allowed 30 passing touchdowns and 288 passing yards per game. Receivers have averaged the 5th most fantasy points per game, and tight ends have put up a 64-749-5 line against them on the season. Noah Fant and Courtland Sutton are the primary targets in the offense. As for the running game, Phillip Lindsay should see 15+ touches this week against a defense allowing the fourth most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. If you are hesitant on starting these names, I would go for it in this matchup.

Los Angeles Chargers Wide Receivers Vs. Oakland Raiders

Los Angeles ChargersOverall everyone is in a good matchup against the Raiders, however this is a week where we can see the wide receivers go off, as well as Hunter Henry. Oakland has allowed the 7th most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season, and are bottom three in DVOA against the pass. Tight ends are averaging the second most fantasy points per game against Oakland this season, which bodes well for a big week from Henry. Mike Williams has finally found the end zone, and his upside is high this week. Keenan Allen has had a quiet second half, but this is a great spot for him. Oakland is allowing 262 passing yards per game, 32 passing touchdowns, and a whopping eight yards per attempt this season. Los Angeles sits with a 26.5 implied total, which is top five on the slate. Week 16 couldn’t be a better matchup for the Chargers.
