Week 10 RB Rankings PPR: Running Back Fantasy Stats & Projections

We get some guys back off bye like Devonta Freeman, Todd Gurley, and likely Alvin Kamara depending on his injury. However, we will have the Patriots running backs on bye, Denver’s backs, Leonard Fournette, and Jordan Howard. I have a lot of bye weeks to fill in, and you might be like me digging into some potential low end starts. I talk about some streaming options alongside a lot of names in good spots. If you are looking for some permanent adds for Week 10 and moving forward, check out the waiver wire breakdowns. Week 10 Studs

christian McCaffreyComing in as the top fantasy player on the season, and on pace for one of the best fantasy seasons ever, Christian McCaffrey is in another spot where he can crush. Green Bay has allowed the 6th most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this season. Green Bay also ranks 26th in DVOA against the run. On the flip side of this game, Carolina is not much better. They rank dead last in DVOA against the run, and are allowing the 5th most fantasy points per game. Aaron Jones had a down week against the Chargers, but the team did as a whole. This will be a positive matchup for Saquon Barkley as the Jets are just a disaster right now. We will need to see if Alvin Kamara is healthy, and I will update if he is out, but the Saints at full strength is lethal and Atlanta is already struggling on the defensive side.

Running backs are starting to see more fantasy points against the Bills. They are allowing the 12th most fantasy points per game, and rank 30th against the run. Nick Chubb is up this week at home, and while Kareem Hunt is back and will reportedly see a role. It may not be what we want to hear for Chubb, but 20 touches is still projected. Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook square off against each other and while the matchups aren’t on the positive side for either, volume has been. Cook ranks third in the league in touches (23.3), and Elliott is right behind him with 22.8.

Streaming Options

Ronald Jones is not only a streaming option for Week 10, but he is a guy to hang onto and will be matchup dependent the rest of the way. Bruce Arians announced Jones as the starter, and has earned his touches. Jones had 20 touches in Week 9 against Seattle, which was a shootout game where the offense went off as a whole. Jones is a strong start this week against the Cardinals, who rank 19th against the run. If you have picked up Jamaal Williams, Devin Singletary, Damien Williams, Jaylen Samuels, and Matt Breida over the last few weeks or have hung onto them, these are all strong plug and plays. Back to pick ups to start this week. Kalen Ballage is going to see touches given the suspension to Walton and Drake leaving to Arizona. The matchup isn’t the worst, as Indy ranks 27th against the run.

Upside Week For The Middle Guys

Derrick Henry is no mid range guy when it comes to fantasy points this season, but in terms of those tier two and three guys they are all in great spots this week. Henry was not used as much in the first half against the Panthers, and then the coaching staff figured it out. He will get Kansas City this week, who rank 28th against the run, and are allowing the third most fantasy points per game. Marlon Mack is in a home matchup against the Dolphins, who are allowing the 4th most fantasy points per game to opposing defenses and rank 31st against the run. I was a bit surprised to see Mark Ingram have as much success as he did on the ground against New England. He has an easier matchup against Cincinnati this week, but didn’t exactly breakout in the home matchup earlier this season. They have allowed the second most fantasy points per game to running backs, and rank 29th against the run.

Josh Jacobs is now the OROY front runner, and will get the Chargers this week. I don’t mind him in this spot even after the Chargers defense got back on track in Week 9. They rank 25th against the run, and are allowing the 10th most fantasy points per game. The other rookie in a good spot this week is David Montgomery, who will get the Lions. Jacobs just ripped apart the Lions, who are allowing the most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs this season.
