Week 11 College Football Power Rankings, Georgia knocks off Florida

Many of the top college teams were on a bye this week for what should be an epic college football Saturday November 9. Here are this weeks power rankings
alabama crimson tide

1. Alabama 8-0

last week: Bye
this week: Vs. LSU
Alabama and LSU is going to be the best regular season game of the year. The extra week of prep is huge for this matchup.
ohio state buckeyes

2. Ohio State 8-0

last week: Bye
this week: Vs. Maryland
The Buckeyes have Maryland and Rutgers their next two games before Penn State and Michigan to finish the season. No one seems to be able to stop this team.
lsu tigers

3. LSU 8-0

last week: Bye
this week: At Alabama
Joe Burrow can lock up the Heisman against Bama with an incredible performance and a possibly upsetting the Tide.
clemson tigers

4. Clemson 9-0

last week: Win vs. Wofford 59-14
this week: At NC State
Playing Wofford is basically a built in bye week. NC State, Wake Forest, and South Carolina finishes up a very weak Tigers schedule.
penn state nittany lions

5. Penn State 8-0

last week: Bye
this week: At Minnesota
The Nittany Lions have overachieved to this point. They’re a good football, but have had a few matchups where they’ve been out played. Maybe Minnesota makes them apart of a not so shocking upset next week.
georgia bulldogs

6. Georgia 7-1

last week: Win vs. Florida 24-17
this week: Vs. Mizzou
Georgia stays alive for a chance at the College Football Playoff after their elimination game against Florida. The Bulldogs will most likely get the winner of Alabama vs LSU the first week of December. Jake Fromm is starting to silence the critics.
oregon ducks

7. Oregon

last week: Win at USC 56-24
this week: Bye
Some experts were looking at USC to upset the Ducks in Pasadena. Oregon rose to the occasion and buried the Trojans. Justin Herbert completed 80 percent of his passes and threw three touchdowns. He’s making his Heisman case as we speak.
utah utes

8. Utah 7-1

last week: Win at Washington 33-28
this week: Bye
The Utes keep on rolling after another impressive win. This time they went up to Washington to get it done. If Utah wins out, they can find themselves in the Pac-12 Championship Game, and even a possibility at a final four spot. This team is that good.
oklahoma sooners

9. Oklahoma 7-1

last week: Bye
this week: Vs. Iowa State
Oklahoma has to sit on their loss to Kansas State this week. There’s very little chance that the Sooner can make the College Football Playoff at this point.
baylor bears

10. Baylor 8-0

last week: Win vs. West Virginia 17-14
this week: At TCU
The Bears were given a scare Thursday night against West Virginia. Baylor hasn’t looked as impressive over the last few weeks either. They hold the top spot in the Big-12 but might now hang on for long.
florida gators

11. Florida 7-2

last week: Loss vs. Georgia 24-17
this week: Vs. Vanderbilt
Florida is knocked out of contention of the College Football Playoff. Their game against the Bulldogs was for the SEC East and a chance at the CFP, and the Gators came up short. Georgia is just an all-around better team.
minnesota golden gophers

13. Minnesota 8-0

last week: Bye
this week: Vs. Penn State
The biggest game of Minnesota’s season happens next week. P.J. Fleck is already lobbying for College Gameday to show up next weekend. Maybe he should focus more on Penn State this week.
michigan wolverines

14. Michigan 6-2

last week: Win at Maryland 38-7
this week: Bye
Michigan finally had an impressive road performance against a Big Ten opponent. They’ll get the week off before they go up against rival Michigan State. Luckily for them, they play at home in this matchup.
notre dame fighting irish

12. Notre Dame 6-2

last week: Win vs. Virginia Tech 21-20
this week: At Duke
Three turnovers almost cost the Irish a win against Virginia Tech. The Hookies completely swung the game right before halftime with a 99 yard scoop and score. Fortunately for Notre Dame, they were able to finish it off in the second half. Brian Kelly’s seat is starting to get warm.
auburn tigers

15. Auburn

last week: Win vs. Ole Miss 20-14
this week: Bye
Auburn’s defense looked solid in their win on Saturday. Bo Nix takes one step forwards and three steps back this season. He makes a nice pass one play and then turns the ball over the next. There hasn’t been consistency.
wisconsin badgers

16. Wisconsin 6-2

last week: Bye
this week: Vs. Iowa
Wisconsin is still a very good football that had the worst series of events happen to them. They bye will get them refocused and ready for Iowa next weekend. Look for them to come out firing.
texas a&m aggies

17. Texas A&M 6-3

last week: Win vs. UTSA 45-14
this week: Bye
The Aggies finishes off a weak UTSA team. A&M gets South Carolina, Georgia, and LSU to finish off the season. The Aggies are either the best worst team in the SEC or the worst best. Things just aren’t fair for their yearly schedule.
iowa state cyclones

18. Iowa State 5-3

last week: Bye
this week: At Oklahoma
Iowa State vs. Oklahoma is going to be a very good game next weekend. The Cyclones play the Sooners tough every season, and are going to want to show the Big-12 they are still for real. Brock Purdy is going to give Jalen Hurts a run for his money.
texas longhorns

19. Texas 5-3

last week: Bye
this week: Vs. Kansas State
Sam Ehlinger cost the Longhorns a win at TCU last week. Every time Texas is “back”, they then go ahead and show everyone how they aren’t. Their defense is very bad, and may lose another game or two in November because of it.
washington huskies

20. Washington 5-4

last week: Loss vs. Utah 33-28
this week: At Oregon State
Washington can’t seem to hang on at home again, as three turnovers didn’t help their cause. Jacob Eason threw four touchdowns in the game, but just not enough. Chris Petersen is an excellent coach, but just hasn’t been able to find stability this season.
memphis tigers

21. Memphis

last week: Win vs. SMU 54-48
this week: At Houston
Memphis knocked off undefeated SMU at home on Saturday. The Tigers had over 500 yards of offense in the win, and are now in the driver seat to play in the AAC Championship game.
iowa hawkeyes

22. Iowa 6-2

last week: Bye
this week: At Wisconsin
Iowa and Wisconsin might combine for a total of 25 points next week. Iowa has a very good defense that can slow down Jonathan Taylor and the Badgers offense. Their offense has struggled this season, and it showed against Michigan and Penn State.
ucf knights

23. UCF 7-2

last week: Win vs. Houston 44-29
this week: At Tulsa
Central Florida rolls again this week. The loss against Cincinnati is going to cost them a chance at playing for a conference championship. Wouldn’t it have been fun to see them go up against SMU or Memphis? Or even Navy?
kansas state wildcats

24. Kansas State 6-2

last week: Win at Kansas 38-10
this week: At Texas
No letdown spot for Kansas State. They roll over their rival Kansas on the road and currently sit at 6-2 on the season. KSU ran for 342 yards in the win, and the Jayhawks had no shot at slowing that rushing attack down.
oklahoma state cowboys

25. Oklahoma State 6-3

last week: Win vs. TCU 34-27
this week: Bye
The Cowboys have had an up and down season to this point, but they have been playing better football in recent weeks. Wins over Iowa State and TCU get them into the top-25.
