Another great week of college basketball is behind us. The top-10 is slowly taking shape just in time for March. Here is this weeks Lineups Power Rankings.
1. Gonzaga 26-1
Gonzaga just continues to roll and are now 12-0 in the West Coast Conference. The Bulldogs have won by double digits in eight of their last 10 games. No one can keep up with this team, and should run the table into March.
2. Baylor 24-1
Baylor hasn’t lost since November 8, and they might not lose the rest of the regular season. Every time, Baylor has answered the bell against their tough opponents. They dominated against West Virginia over the weekend and remain undefeated in the Big 12.
3. Kansas 23-3
Kansas dominates their opponent game in and game out. They took care of business against Iowa State and Oklahoma over the last week, and look to get their revenge against Baylor over the weekend. This game could come down to who wins the Big 12.
4. San Diego State 26-0
San Diego State has a great chance to finish the season undefeated. They have UNLV, Colorado State, and Nevada remaining on the schedule with two games back at home. This team should be a one seed during March Madness.
5. Dayton 24-2
Dayton is the third mid-major team to find themselves in the top-5 of the Lineups power rankings. They’re 13-0 in the Atlantic-10, and have five games remaining in the regular season. The Flyers are legit and will be a force in March.
6. Duke 22-3
Duke took care of business over the weekend against Notre Dame. The Blue Devils are getting hot at the right time, and will definitely make a run late into March. College basketball fans might not realize their success comes from their defense.
7. Maryland 22-4
Maryland has turned things around since their early conference woes last month. They now sit in first place of the Big Ten and have road wins against Illinois and Michigan Stater over the last two weeks.
8. Florida State 22-4
Florida State took care of business after losing to Duke by beating Syracuse and Pittsburgh. The Seminoles find themselves ties with Louisville for second in ACC. They can definitely win this conference given their roster.
9. Kentucky 21-5
Kentucky took care of business at LSU on Tuesday night. That win put the Wildcats at 11-2 and in sole possession of first place in the SEC. Their offense is one of the best in the country and will get them to late March.
10. Louisville 21-5
Louisville took a tumble this week as they lost back to back road games to Clemson and Georgia Tech. The Cardinals should rebound from their ugly week, but taking bad losses this late in the season is never good.
11. Villanova 19-6
Villanova bounced back this week after losing three straight games. They knocked off Marquette, and in-city rival Temple to get back on track. They still need to win a few more games to get to first place heading into the conference tournament.
12. Colorado 20-6
The Buffaloes keep moving up the Lineups power rankings. They are tied with Oregon for first place in the Pac-12, and need to hold their own if they want to win the conference out west. Colorado has a chance to win out.
13. Oregon 20-6
Oregon picked up two big wins last week against Utah and Colorado, who they are now tied for first with. The Ducks are still the favorite to win this conference, but they need to play consistent basketball down the stretch.
14. Auburn 22-4
Auburn has lost back to back road games and have now lost all four games to conference opponents this season. The Tigers luck has been tremendous this season, so it was only inevitable for them to start sliding.
15. Penn State 20-6
Penn State had their 8-game winning streak snapped by Illinois on Tuesday night. The Nittany Lions are still in second place in the Big Ten, but there are five teams one game behind them. They need to be careful moving forward.
16. Iowa 18-8
Iowa has played .500 basketball after their last six games. The Hawkeyes are still in the thick of things in the Big Ten, but they have a tough schedule down the stretch. Let’s see how they respond.
17. West Virginia 19-7
West Virginia finally got off of their losing streak with a win over Oklahoma State on Tuesday night. The Mountaineers are now 7-6 in the Big 12, and have struggled offensively all season. Bob Huggins needs to do some work on that end.
18. Seton Hall 19-7
Seton Hall had an incredible game-winning shot over Butler to go to 19 wins this seasons. They had a mini skid going, so it was good for the Pirates to snap a two game losing streak. Can they continue to string these wins together.
19. Creighton 21-6
Creighton continues to impress in Big East play. They sit at 10-4 in conference are in second place as well. The Bluejays have knocked off Marquette and Seton Hall over the last few weeks to prove they’re legit.
20. Marquette 17-8
Marquette took two tough losses back to back games against Villanova and Creighton. The Golden Eagles are still atop of the log jam that is the Big East conference. They sit at 7-6, but are still in third place in the conference.
Butler is 4-7 in their last 11 games, and can’t seem to find some momentum in late February. The Bulldogs have slowly slipped down the mountain since sitting the the top-5 in December. They need to figure things out before March.
21. BYU 21-7
BYU has found themselves on a nice six-game winning streak. The Cougars are getting hot at the right time, and still have one more opportunity to knock off Gonzaga before the season is over. Let’s see if they can do.
23. Houston 20-6
Houston couldn’t finish the job at SMU over the weekend. The Cougars lost in overtime, and are now tied with Cincinnati for first place in the American Conference. They should be able to edge out their opponents over the next week.
24. Arizona 18-7
Arizona is 6-2 in their last eight games. The Wildcats have five games left in the regular season, and are heating up at the right time. Maybe they’ll be a dark-horse when the tournament rolls around.
25. Ohio State 17-8
Ohio State found themselves in a dreaded stretch of games, and are now on the other side. The Buckeyes have won five of their last six games, and are starting to pick their game back up, and are back in the top-25.
