Injuries have cleared up a little bit here at the tight end position. However, we are still missing Evan Engram. Gerald Everett, Vance McDonald, and Greg Olsen remain questionable, although Olsen is likely going to return this week now that he has cleared protocol. With many names on the IR, streaming tight ends might be your strategy at the end of the season here. For those looking at who some of the top tight ends are this year, it is the usual names up top. After a slow start Jared Cook is TE7 and HInter Henry is TE8 despite playing four less games. Kyle Rudolph, Darren Fells, and Jason Witten are all in or near top ten. To win those fantasy football leagues, you are going to have to win the waiver wire as well. You can find the top tight ends to pick up by rank for this upcoming week.

Jacob Hollister – Seattle Seahawks
Sitting at 45% owned, Jacob Hollister is the first name I am looking for this week. While he saw just three targets this past week against Carolina, he saw 14 in the two games prior. Hollister has put up some big games back before the bye, and has had an up and down fantasy season since taking over. The matchup against the Cardinals is just a matchup to plug and play here. They have allowed 19.7 PPR points per game to opposing tight ends, and it doesn’t seem to matter what name is going up against them. They have allowed 15+ fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends in all but three games this season. Ricky Seals-Jones even came back to Arizona and dropped 17.9 fantasy points on them. Hollister is the guy this week.
Dallas Goedert – Philadelphia Eagles
Over the past five weeks, Dallas Goedert has seen the sixth most targets (33), and has put up the 8th most PPR points (52). With the Eagles receiver situation in the shape that it is in, Goedert should continue to see solid targets. While he isn’t going down the field much, and only has 230 yards over the five games, he has 24 receptions, which are the sixth most in that span. He will see a Dallas team this week allowing the 7th most PPR points per game to opposing tight ends. Goedert has posted a touchdown in the last two games against Dallas.
Tyler Higbee – Los Angeles Rams
One of the more consistent tight ends over the last few weeks has been Tyler Higbee. He has posted 20+ fantasy points in three straight games, and has seen 6, 8, 11, and 14 targets over the last four weeks. In the last five weeks he has seen 23% of the targets with the Rams, which is absurd to think about given all the weapons that they have. Things have certainly been changing. Gerald Everett continues to be hindered by the knee injury, leading to stable time for Higbee. He is TE5 over the last five weeks, and the 49ers have been a bit vulnerable of late to tight ends.

O.J. Howard – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With Mike Evans out and Chris Godwin following right behind him, Tampa Bay’s heaving passing offense is going to be rather limited. Howard saw a season high eight targets against Detroit, posting a 4-46-0 line. Howard is around the 50% owned mark and if you are in need of some upside, this game should be a shootout. Houston has also allowed the 11th most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season, and the third most over the last five weeks. If you can put the bias aside, Howard has strong Week 16 upside. Cameron Brate should even get a bump in targets if you are desperate in deeper leagues.
Noah Fant – Denver Broncos
The Lions are allowing 12.3 PPR points per game to opposing tight ends this season, which ranks 15th in fantasy points allowed. Noah Fant is TE11 over the last five weeks, and this is a good matchup for him and Drew Lock to wrap up the season strong. Fant will get Oakland in Week 17 for those still playing, and they are allowing the 6th most fantasy points per game. He will likely hover around the 4-5 mark for targets, which isn’t high, but Fant is stretching the field and has big play upside.
Jonnu Smith – Tennessee Titans
Jonnu Smith has posted 12 and 17 PPR points over the last two weeks, and nine targets to go along with it. Smith will see two defenses he can beat these next two weeks. These are also two meetings where the Titans pass offense should be in higher volume. Smith is last on the list here due to the volume not being quite as high as the other tight ends. He is out there for deeper leagues who are in need of a fill in option.
