Week 3 College Basketball Power Rankings

Early season tournaments are in full swing this week. This is the week where we get to see which teams are real and which teams aren’t. Here are this weeks college basketball power rankings.
louisville cardinals

1. Louisville 6-0

The Cardinals can score at will as they’re averaging 83.5 points per game. Jordan Nwora is averaging over 20 points per game for Louisville.
kansas jayhawks

2. Kansas 5-1

Kansas has slowly improved over the last few weeks and find themselves back at two thanks to some upsets. They’ll continue to show the nation how good they are this season.
gonzaga

3. Gonzaga 6-0

The Zags are off to an incredible 6-0 start this season. Their non-conference strength of schedule has been weak, but they’ll be tested in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
kentucky wildcats

4. Kentucky 5-1

Kentucky has rebounded nicely from their upset loss to Evansville. The Wildcats can still score, as they’ve scored over 80 points in each of their wins.
michigan state spartans

5. Michigan State 4-2

Michigan State is going to struggle this season if teams learn how to take away Cassius Winston. He has seven points in their loss to Virginia Tech in Maui.
 
duke blue devils

6. Duke 6-1

Duke loses their first non-conference home game since 2000. Stephen F. Austin comes in and shocks the world on the Dukies. No one is safe this season.
north carolina tar heels

7. North Carolina 4-0

Cole Anthony is the Tar Heels do it all guy, but we’ll get to see how he does in the Battle 4 Atlantis. A potential North Carolina vs. Gonzaga matchup later this week will be a real treat.

8. Virginia 4-0

Virginia has looked great all year, but this team might struggle against athletic guards. Arizona State’s Remy Martin proved that this week.
maryland terrapins

9. Maryland 5-0

Maryland has been off to a great start, but their schedule has been weak to this point. They’ll be tested in December with tougher opponents.
texas tech red raiders

10. Texas Tech 5-0

The Red Raiders are another team that has had a favorable schedule this season. We’ll see what Texas Tech can go against upcoming opponents Iowa and DePaul.
oregon ducks

11. Oregon 5-0

The Ducks will be able to prove themselves in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament this week. Their first opponents, Seton Hall. They can show the nation how good they really are.
ohio state buckeyes

12. Ohio State 6-0

Ohio State athleticism is what is going to win them games. Their defense has held teams to under 60 points each game as well.

13. Villanova 4-2

The Wildcats couldn’t finish off Baylor in the Myrtle Beach Invitational. This is the second game this season Villanova has lost to a solid team.
arizona wildcats

14. Arizona 6-0

Arizona continues to roll thanks to their freshman stars. They’ll be tested with Baylor and Gonzaga before conference play starts.
seton hall

15. Seton Hall 4-1

Another top-25 team that can win the Battle 4 Atlantis. They’ll most likely have to bear Oregon, Gonzaga, and North Carolina in three days, but they’re good enough to do it.

16. Memphis 5-1

Memphis continues to win without James Wiseman. They aren’t as dominant without him, which could cost them a few games until his return.
baylor bears

17. Baylor 5-1

The Bears had an incredible week at Myrtle Beach as they won their preseason tournament over Villanova. This Baylor teams is starting to prove themselves.
auburn tigers

18. Auburn 7-0

As expected, Auburn wins the Legends Classic. They’re now 7-0 on the season, and keep improving each game.
florida gators

19. Florida 5-2

After their slow start to the season, the Gators bounced back and won the Charleston Classic. Their offense is finally starting to improve.

20. Xavier 6-1

Xavier has already been in some tight games this season. They’ve gone to overtime in two wins, and almost knocked off Florida in the Charleston Classic final.
tennessee volunteers

21. Tennessee 5-0

The Volunteers have looked great so far, but they’ll be tested this weekend in the Emerald classic. That will be much better competition than what they’ve seen so far.
florida state seminoles

22. Florida State 5-1

Florida State is another team that will be tested in the Emerald Classic. Their first matchup is against Tennessee.
 
butler

23. Butler 7-0

The Bulldogs are off to great start this season. Butler should be a quality in the Big East as they don’t do anything wrong.
 
purdue boilermakers

24. Purdue 3-2

The Boilermakers still haven’t beat a quality team this season, but they’ll have a chance to rebound in the Emerald Classic, as they’ll face a team in the Lineups Power Rankings.
arkansas razorbacks

25. Arkansas 6-0

Arkansas is off to a hot start this season, and have won impressively in their games. Their defense has been stellar so far this season.
