deshaun WatsonAfter Marcus Mariota and Tennessee took advantage of a Keanu Neal missing Atlanta defense, Deshaun Watson is in a get right spot at home. He checks in as the number two overall quarterback, behind Patrick Mahomes. Indy’s missing a lot of key defenders, which is going to make the Chiefs spot even better than it already is. Jameis Winston put up monster points, and while the Buccaneers consistency scares me, they face off against a Saints defense that has turned it up since Drew Brees went down. I still like him as a top five QB this week. Kyler Murray has struggled the past two weeks, but has Cincinnati on the road. The Bengals defense is allowing over 251 yards passing per game this season, and have allowed 2.02 passing touchdowns as well. The lower end names are in a tough spot this week, as Gardner Minshew gets Carolina, and Mason Rudolph gets Baltimore. Kyle Allen is also making another start, and while he is at home, Jacksonville is a tough defense.

dalvin cookChristian McCaffrey followed up his Arizona performance with an encore against Houston. He is back at home against Jacksonville this week, who rank 23rd in DVOA against the run. Alvin Kamara, Dalvin Cook, and Ezekiel Elliot are all in strong spots this week. David Johnson is in a high upside spot against the Bengals, who struggled to defend James Conner last week in the passing game. Johnson has been used heavily in the passing game, and is a top eight back this week. Coming off a strong performance, Leonard Fournette will take on a tougher Carolina defense. However, his volume still makes him a top ten back. Le’Veon Bell is in a tough spot this week against an Eagles defense that ranks 5th against the run. Nick Chubb will actually see a tougher defense this week as San Francisco is fresh off a bye and ranks 6th against the run.

It was a fun week for Wayne Gallman, but now the schedule toughens up against Minnesota who rank 4th against the run. Devonta Freeman and Chris Carson are in below average spots this week, and have been unreliable to start the season. The volume is decent especially in PPR formats with them working in the passing game, but it isn’t the best of spots.

Coming off a down week against Miami, which is just what we all predicted, Keenan Allen is in a sneaky good spot against Denver. They rank 28th against the pass, and have had zero pass rush this season. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin have been monsters this season, and New Orleans ranks 26th against the pass. The problem is teams have not been able to capitalize on it the last two weeks, and NO has been playing a time of possession game as well. However, they still rank inside the top ten this week. The Arizona wideouts are in a great spot, as Cincinnati rank 31st against the pass. I love the upside they bring and should be friendly in DFS and season long formats.

It is a bounce back spot for the Vikings pass-catchers this week. New York is a defense to target, ranking 20th against the pass this season. However, Kirk Cousins has been atrocious, and the volume has been poor as well. Houston’s wideouts are in a good spot against Atlanta, who let Tennessee run wild last week. I also like the Rams on the TNF game, as Seattle is a middle of the road pass defense. Washington’s wideouts are in a tough spot against New England, and I will not look for a repeat Titans performance against a top five Bills secondary.

Week 5 Tight Ends Rankings

20 Trey Burton @OAK 6.1
21 Jordan Akins ATL 5.7

travis kelceTravis Kelce is in a smash spot, as the Colts are allowing the 4th most fantasy points per game so far this season. He is the standout in this spot, as the Jets have been decent against TE. George Kittle is fresh off a bye week, and Cleveland has allowed three touchdowns to tight ends so far. Evan Engram and Darren Waller are in tough spots this week, but are still must starts due to their volume. Tyler Eifert is a streaming option and DFS flyer this week, as the Cardinals have allowed a 32-431-6 line to tight ends. It is hard to take a chance on Jared Cook, but the Buccaneers have allowed a 30-365-2 line to tight ends so far this season. The Jaguars have been sneaky bad against tight ends, and Greg Olsen is worth a start again. Delanie Walker, Austin Hooper, and Zach Ertz are all in tough spots this week, with a limited ceiling for fantasy.

18 Mason Crosby @DAL 6.7
20 Zane Gonzalez @CIN 6.5
21 Jake Elliott NYJ 6.4

The bigger names are in good spots, as all of the top offenses should be moving the ball at will this week. Joey Slye continues to be a strong fantasy option, and is a top ten kicker this week. Dan Bailey is also a name who gets a jump going up against the Giants. The Broncos, Rams, Buccaneers, Cardinals, and Texans have all been friendly in terms of fantasy points allowed to opposing kickers.

Chicago BearsNo surprise to see Chicago and New England top the rankings this week, despite being on the road. Baltimore looked shaky the last few weeks on the defensive side, but will take on Pittsburgh and Mason Rudolph. Both Buffalo and Tennessee square off in what should be an extremely low scoring game. If you are looking for streamers, Philly was dropped by quite a few people, but Cleveland is someone to keep an eye out for on the road against a 49ers offense that hasn’t clicked. The Chargers are banged up on the defensive side, but will take on a hapless Denver offense at home. Dallas, Green Bay, and Seattle all take a drop this week.
