2021 Baltimore Ravens Betting Preview
The Baltimore Ravens were one of the top teams in the NFL last season despite never being able to throw the ball.
Baltimore has everything to contend for a title except a potent passing attack. They have a dangerous rushing offense where Lamar Jackson is the lightning to J.K. Dobbins thunder. Using their top 10 offensive lines, Jackson, Dobbins, and Gus Edwards were able to run all over the NFL last season. And they needed to as their passing offense was among the worst in the league.
Last year they only had TE Mark Andrews and WR Marquis Brown to throw to. Now, they upgraded mightly as they acquired WR Sammy Watkins from free agency and wide receivers Rashod Bateman and Tylan Wallace from the draft. They guys might not be the answer at wide receiver, but they will certainly be better than what Lamar was throwing to last season.
On defense, not much has changed and that’s just fine for Baltimore. The Ravens were a top 5 defense last season and they are returning most of their impact players. Their secondary is loaded as they have ballers like Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters, Chuck Clark, and Deshon Elliot roaming around trying to take receivers’ heads off. Their front seven is also stout as they have players like Calais Campell, Brandon Williams, Derek Wolfe, Patrick Queen, and Tyus Bowser to make quarterbacks and running backs everywhere scared for their lives.
The upgrades the Ravens made to their passing attack should put them in a position for Super Bowl contention in 2021.

Key Offseason Transactions
The Ravens were in dire need of new receivers this offseason.
The guys they had last season were not getting the job done and poor Lamar had to fit so many balls into tight windows. The only people Jackson could trust were Marquis Brown and Mark Andrews, and even those two were not gaining as much separation as they needed to.
In free agency, they signed injury-prone WR Sammy Watkins. He is a great addition to the team because he provides speed and great route running when he is healthy.
They also selected wide receivers with some of their top picks in the draft and chose Rashod Bateman and Tylan Wallace as the guys who can boost Lamar back to MVP form.
Hopefully, that will be enough to get the Ravens to top-level AFC contention because the rest of their team is complete.

2021 Baltimore Ravens Betting Outlook
The Ravens have been one of the most profitable teams to bet on in the past couple of seasons, and I don’t see that trend changing anytime soon.
The real goldmine of NFL betting is the Ravens ATS, where they were an impressive 11-7 last season. The Ravens love to prey upon weaker teams so regardless of how big the spread is if the Ravens are playing someone inferior to them, put the mortgage on them because that game will be a bloodbath.
The over/under for the Ravens is a different story as they struggled to put points on the board last season. Their defense had to do a lot of the heavy lifting for them and that’s why they had so many games go under. This season could be different if the receivers they brought in pan out to be legitimate throwing threats that Lamar Jackson doesn’t have to make a perfect pass to get the ball to.
I expect a lot of spread covers and unders because of how awesome the run game and defense are for the Ravens.
Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl Odds
The Ravens have the 5th best odds to win the Super Bowl at +1400. These odds are tied with the 49ers and below teams like the Chiefs, Buccaneers, Bills, and Rams.
The Ravens might be a great value pick to place your Super Bowl future because of their upside. They already have the best rushing attack and one of the best defenses in the NFL. All they need is an average passing offense and this team is good enough to win it all.
In shootouts and high-scoring affairs, they will struggle because their passing attack was really bad last year and has not proven to be halfway decent this year.
But if they hit on the guys they chose this offseason, then the sky’s the limit for this Baltimore team.
Baltimore Ravens Playoff Odds
Baltimore is a heavy favorite to make it into the playoffs this season.
The odds that they make the playoffs are -303 and the odds that they miss the playoffs are +235.
The Ravens are one of many teams in the league where they are a great team, but they just play in a difficult division which clouds your playoff chances. The AFC North is the second hardest division in football as the Ravens, Browns, and Steelers all have a legitimate case to win the division. I expect the Browns and Ravens to be playing for the division crown late into the season, but you should also never count out the Steelers.
Hypothetically if the Ravens didn’t win the AFC North, they still have a good shot to make the playoffs as they are more talented than other teams competing for wildcard spots like the Patriots, Dolphins, Raiders, Chargers, Titans, or Colts.
Whether they make it in as a division winner or a wildcard team, the Ravens are going to be a team that no one wants to play when the playoffs commence.
Baltimore Ravens Win Total Odds
The bar is set awfully high for the Ravens this year as they have a predicted win total at 10.5.
The under for this bet has +125 odds while the over has -145 odds.
The road to over 10.5 wins will be a hard one as the Ravens schedule is looking difficult. The Ravens already have hard games in their division like playing the Browns, Steelers, and Bengals twice not to mention also having to play the Chiefs, Raiders, Lions, Broncos, Colts, Chargers, Vikings, Dolphins, Bears, Packers, and Rams.
There aren’t that many sure-fire wins for the Ravens, but being one of the best teams in the NFL isn’t easy either. The Ravens have their work cut out for them this season, but they have more than enough talent on offense and defense to get over the 10.5 wins mark.
Baltimore Ravens Player Future Odds
Lamar Jackson is an MVP hopeful this season while Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters have a shot at the DPOY.
Starting on the offensive side of the ball, Lamar Jackson is a prime MVP candidate as his odds to win the MVP are 8th best at +1650. This is behind other top-tier quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Matthew Stafford. Jackson has a chance to claim his second MVP trophy in his young career because of his game-breaking running ability to couple with his great arm.
On the defensive side of the ball, Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey are secondary players on the Ravens who can win the DPOY. Peters has the better odds of the two at +4000 while Humprhey is far off from the trophy at +5000 odds. These two will probably not win the DPOY because they are players who get a ton of sacks who also play for the same team. In the end, they will probably split stats and votes.
