Rodgers will attempt to revitalize an offense that ranked 25th in yards per play (YPP) last season. Last month, Pittsburgh bolstered its receiving corps by trading for former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf and signing him to a five-year, $150 million contract.
However, the betting market’s stance on Rodgers’ new team is more than justified. In 2024, he delivered career-worsts in games lost (12), yards per pass attempt (6.7), and passer rating (90.5). His passing success rate (43.03%) even finished 28th among 39 qualified QBs.
Granted, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has a history of outperforming the market’s expectations, holding the record for consecutive seasons (18) without a losing campaign. You can bet on this trend continuing, but I’m not bullish on Pittsburgh’s outlook with Rodgers in the fold.
