Bayes Esports Gets First Nod To Enter U.S. Market

Lineups logoAs part of its U.S. expansion plan, Bayes Esports, a live data supplier for esports, announced its registration to become an official sports betting data supplier in New Jersey and Colorado. This makes Bayes Esports the first registered supplier in the U.S. to leverage official esports live data directly from a game publisher.

Concurrently, Bet365 and Bayes Esports are expanding their existing partnership to the U.S. to join together in offering new sports betting products in both locations. Bet365 is live and legal in both New Jersey and Colorado as well as Virginia.

Motivation to Expand

“With states opening up to live online betting one by one, and regulations differing between them, it has become quite a difficult task for betting operators to ensure that every part of their betting value chain is sufficiently licensed on a state by state, sport by sport, and even on an event by event basis,” their press release noted. “With Bayes Esports now being a licensed esports data supplier in New Jersey and Colorado, the process for betting operators getting registered in these states has become significantly easier,” it continued.

Bayes Esports is headquartered in Berlin, Germany, and until now, only had presence in Europe. The company is confident that the U.S. is well positioned to become as relevant as the European sports betting market one day. As a testament, they are working with governing bodies and legislators in the U.S., such as the Nevada Gaming Control Board, to get live online betting in 31 U.S. states and esports betting in nine.

Bayes Esports has had their eyes on the U.S. market for a few months now – in May the company stated their intent to move into this market, and now the time has come. “Out of all the states, New Jersey and Colorado happened to be the most progressive and open to innovation, but we expect others to follow suit very shortly,” said Amir Mirzaee, COO and Managing Director of Bayes Esports.

Both the Nevada and Colorado sports betting markets have been successful since their respective launches. New Jersey is pretty unanimously in the second place spot nationally behind New York, in terms of revenue, handle, and popularity. Colorado, though a much smaller market, has had success in its own right. In September, sports betting in Colorado generated a $450 million handle.

This expansion announcement comes just shortly after the company revamped their management team with industry experts. Christopher Bohlmann joined as the Director of Growth & Finance, and André Schneider joined as the Senior Director of People & Culture.

“With the recently announced expansion of Bayes Esports into the USA, as well as the upcoming launch of a new odds distribution platform, it’s excellent to see that the company has assembled the strongest possible management team to support and complement its ambitions,” said Bayes Esports CEO Martin Dachselt.

It’s also following the company’s announcement and launch of its centralized integration platform for betting odds, BoDEX. “BODEX is a first-of-its-kind platform that integrates odds from both general and specialized traders on a single platform, the press release from Sept. 20 said. “BoDEX will allow operators to subscribe to very specific odds packages that differentiate between the included sports or games, organizers, tournaments, leagues, and markets.”
