For your free pool, you will have to choose between the Lions at +3 or Bears at -3; this is a tough spread, and going into Week 13, it is not very clear where to go.

Bears -3

I really believe that the only place to put your money on this game or who to select for your weekly pool is the Bears at -3. Yes, the Bears have their struggles on offense; this team may have the worst offense in the NFL. However, the defense will save them in this game. Matt Stafford has looked like a shell of himself without Kenny Golladay, and nobody has stepped up.

Mitchell Trubisky will not have to do much to win this game, and that is great news for Bears fans. Relying on either Foles or Trubisky has been a nightmare all season. The thing is, the team should put up points on this bad Lions’ defense, but they will not. Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney, and Anthony Miller will all be running free in this game while Trubisky misses reads and throws inaccurate balls. So far, I have not given much reason as to why you should select the Bears at -3.

The reason all lies in the defense. Khalil Mack will feast in this matchup if Stafford has to drop back to pass consistently. While D’Andre Swift will be back, and he has shown some explosiveness, it will not be enough for the Lions to sustain drives in the game. The Lions will be lucky to reach 14 points in this game.

This means that Matt Nagy only has to put together 18 points on offense, maybe less with a defensive or special teams score, to win you this spread. Choosing one, I think that I have to go with the Bears despite Nagy, Trubisky, and that terrible offensive line.
