Josh Allen Divisional Round Player Prop Bet (BUF vs. BAL)
Over 236.5 passing yards: Over -110 on FanDuel
- Buffalo has featured a run-heavy attack under offensive coordinator Joe Brady, but the Ravens simply don’t allow opposing teams to get going on the ground. Baltimore has also been elite in terms of containing rushing quarterbacks, so Allen may be forced to fire deep downfield instead of using his legs in this matchup. He only managed 180 passing yards on 29 attempts in a Week 4 loss at Baltimore, but he posted 320 air yards in that matchup, and his receiving corps is far healthier at this juncture. Allen got to 272 passing yards — his postseason average — in a 31-7 win last week on only 26 attempts with his team calling 41 run plays. The Ravens’ secondary has been much improved during the second half of the season but has mostly faced below-average passing attacks. The Bills have a stable of weapons in the passing game without a true top receiver to bracket.
Matthew Stafford Divisional Round Player Prop Bet (DET vs. WAS)
Over 32.5 pass attempts: Over -105 on DraftKings
- This wager covers a scenario where the Rams fall behind early and have to pass throughout the second half or a scenario where the Rams are competitive throughout the game but struggle to establish the run against an elite defensive line. Philadelphia’s defense has led the NFL in overall EPA since Week 10 and has been dominant in terms of opponents’ completion rate. That often leads to more attempts, such as in Week 11 when Stafford went 24 for 36 in a home loss to the Eagles. The Eagles forced opposing quarterbacks to pass 33-plus times in four of their next six matchups, including 33 attempts from Jordan Love in the wild card round. Stafford attempted just six of his 27 attempts in the second half during a comfortable wild card win over the Vikings. The Rams employed a quick-hitting pass attack against Minnesota’s pass-funnel defense in the first half, and the Eagles use a similar approach by stacking the line of scrimmage.
Isaiah Likely Divisional Round Player Prop Bet (BAL @ BUF)
Over 3.5 receptions: Over +120 on BetRivers
- Likely is gaining steam, with his receiving yards up to 35.5 at most books, and that’s still a solid bet, but the receptions offer even more value. The Bills played zone at a top-10 rate this season and weren’t particularly effective guarding shifty tight ends in that base defense. Likely saw an expanded role last week with Zay Flowers (knee) out and lined up a season-high 22 times as a receiver. He coasted to 51 receiving yards while the Ravens called run plays on 70% of their offensive snaps in an easy win. Lamar Jackson has posted a 131.2 passer rating when targeting Likely and he should look for him in the middle of the field if the Bills play zone with linebackers spying to try to negate Jackson’s rushing ability.
Lamar Jackson Divisional Round Player Prop Bet (BAL @ BUFL)
Over 9.5 rush attempts: Over -125 on BetRivers
- The Bills might try to take away Jackson’s rushing ability, but no defense can mortgage too many resources toward the quarterback with Derrick Henry threatening to dominate the game. The Ravens used Henry as a wildcat quarterback and have run more read-option looks with Jackson capitalizing on the attention paid to his future Hall of Fame back. Temperatures will be in the single digits in Buffalo, and downfield passing isn’t Baltimore’s speciality, particularly in playoff games. That’s why Jackson is averaging 17.6 rush attempts for 120 yards per game in his six postseason appearances. When throwing windows become tighter, Jackson tends to lean on his electric athleticism.
