BetMGM Launches in Arizona

Sports betting was officially legalized on September 9th in Arizona. The date just so happened to coincide with the official start of the NFL season, translating to some major betting action to celebrate the legalization. BetMGM Arizona launched the same day and is already primed to be one of the biggest sportsbooks in the state. In addition to the launch, BetMGM is making some major collaborations in the Grand Canyon State. In August, reports arose that the BetMGM Arizona connection is making another big step as the sportsbook partners with the Arizona Cardinals. The collaboration is going to be interesting to watch, as BetMGM Arizona plans on opening its very own sportsbook inside of State Farm Stadium in 2022.

Best Bet: Raiders at Ravens Over 50.5

The Ravens might be known for their defense in most years, but it’s tough to expect them to perform at the same rate as last year. Losing Marcus Peters for the year to an ACL injury stings. After all, he was responsible for 4 interceptions and 4 forced fumbles in 2020. The Las Vegas Raiders offense should be firing on all cylinders, even if Josh Jacobs is out with a possible illness. In the last five games of the 2020 season, the Raiders averaged 33.8 points per game. Plus, Derek Carr got into a major groove in that span, throwing 8 touchdowns and averaging 291.4 yards a game.

The Raiders defense wasn’t making tons of stops last year. Looking back on their schedule there were plenty of high-scoring games, as their 25th-ranked defense allowed 27.1 points per matchup. Unless new auditions such as DE Yannick Ngakoue and safety Trevon Moehrig start contributing immediately, it’s tough to imagine them slowing down the usually dynamic Lamar Jackson. Speaking of Jackson, expect him to pass early and often as the Ravens offense adjusts to life without their top running backs. Watch the fireworks as both QBs air it out (and pick up some rushing yards in Jackson’s case) and fly over the point total.
