BetMGM Releases 2022 NFL Draft Odds
Contents
BetMGM Sportsbook has recently announced its 2022 NFL Draft Odds for the 1st overall pick. With football, and specifically the National Football League, being by far the biggest betting market, it is no wonder that these odds are being released just a week after the 2021 NFL Draft concluded. Sportsbooks are consistently looking to get the next round of odds up when it comes to anything and everything NFL.
However, with the draft so far out, there is an incredible amount of players listed in the running, and there could be some possible steals when it comes to the odds. You will recognize some of the big names if you follow collegiate football, but it may be players beyond those big names who offer the most value for money.
2022 NFL Draft Favorites
There are three clear favorites to go number one overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, according to BetMGM. The first is the best defensive end prospect since Jadevon Clowney, a prospect who many argue is superior to both Nick Bosa and Chase Young, two DPOY-type edge rushers. Kayvon Thibodeaux, a defensive end out of Oregon, is simply the crème de la crème of collegiate edge rushers. His production, size, and freak athleticism is the reason he is the odds on favorite to go first overall at +250.
The next two favorites are both quarterbacks. However, they came from different paths. The first is Spencer Rattler at +300. The five-star recruit was considered a phenomenal high school prospect and currently attends Oklahoma. He is widely considered the most gifted quarterback in the class based on the raw talent that he has been praised for since high school. Then there is Sam Howell at +400, a low-end 4-star recruit who attends the University of North Carolina. Howell is credited with turning the UNC offense around and is in the top-3 solely based on his collegiate performances.
2022 NFL Draft Dark Horses
When looking at the BetMGM odds, there is one player who stands out to me as a clear value-bet. That player is Malik Wills, my current #1 QB in the class. Malik Wills out of Liberty sits at +1,400 odds because not a lot of people know about him. Even collegiate football fans do not really watch Liberty during their Saturday game days. However, Malik Wills has one of the strongest and most accurate arms I have ever scouted. He also is a freak athlete who can rush just as well as many of the mobile quarterbacks in the NFL. If Wills has another fantastic year, he could easily climb the ranks and become the 1st overall favorite by the end of the season.
