The West Virginia online casino industry is growing, and a popular and well-known name is now live in the state. BetRivers.com is now available to online casino players in the Mountaineer State as Rush Street Interactive has launched its online casino platform.
The U.S. online casino industry is not that big at the moment, but Rush Street has formed a strong presence in some of the biggest markets. BetRivers.com is now available in four states, with Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennslyvania being the other three.
To gain market access into West Virginia, Rush Street formed a partnership with Mountaineer Park. Mountaineer Park is the property of Century Casinos, and the two large companies were able to reach a deal last December.
One of the features that will allow BetRivers to stand out from the competition is that users can enter into free bingo contests. There are some terrific prizes available through these bingo games, and users can apply those prizes to enter into other contests.
BetRivers will offer a large number of table games, and this operator is known for being a leader in the industry. Rush Street Interactive has emerged as the clear leader in Pennsylvania and will be looking to do the same in West Virginia.
iGaming Industry Growing
DraftKings was the first online casino to launch in West Virginia, partnering with the Hollywood Casino in Charleston. After DraftKings launched in July 2020, BetMGM wasn’t too far behind, launching its site in August through a partnership with the Greenbrier Casino.
BetRivers will be looking to compete with these two companies that are both known for being terrific operators. NetEnt is also looking to break into the market, but it’s unclear when that launch will take place.
Loyalty Program Great For Players
Another key feature of the BetRivers.com site is the Loyalty Program that is available on the site. Players are eligible to rack up points for playing online casino games, and those points can then be used to enter bonus games.
Each bonus game unlocks a unique opportunity for the user with both cash prizes and other rewards available. Most online casino sites have some sort of loyalty program available, but few do it better than BetRivers and Rush Street Interactive.
Another bonus is that BetRivers also operates sports betting in close to 10 states throughout the United States, and there is a large customer base.
Sports Betting Letting State Down
West Virginia sports betting has been up and down since the state launched the industry in 2019, but there hasn’t been as much growth as anticipated. The state has struggled to attract new sports betting operators, but there has been a recent push to expand the industry.
Lawmakers have attempted to increase the number of sports betting skins available to casinos and operators in the state, but that bill has not gained much support. iGaming is performing and expanding quickly, but sports betting just hasn’t had the same success.
Following the Super Bowl, NCAA tournaments, and the Masters have been played, there is a bit of a lull for sports betting until the NBA and NHL playoffs begin.
