Broncos Vs. Chargers (10/17/22) Monday Night Football Same Game Parlay Strategy + SGP Picks

In Week 6 of the NFL season, the final game on Monday Night Football features the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers. These teams have had rocky starts to the 2022 season, and they will be hoping this primetime game can provide an opportunity for a catalyst to the remainder of the year.

In this article, I’ll focus on building a Same Game Parlay (SGP) for the upcoming Monday Night Football game. In SGPs, we’re looking to build highly correlated parlays with wagers that make sense in conjunction with one another. There is plenty of value on the board for this upcoming game. Let’s get to work.

Broncos Vs. Chargers Same Game Parlay Monday Night Football

The first wager I’m taking in this game is the Denver Broncos +4.5. I believe this is too many points for a divisional matchup between two struggling teams that are dealing with notable injuries, and the Broncos’ defense is arguably the best unit on the field. They should be in this game throughout, and potentially pull off the upset win depending on how well Russell Wilson performs.

It’s become quite evident that Wilson’s favorite receiver in Denver is Courtland Sutton, and this profiles as a great matchup for him. He’ll likely see a lot of J.C. Jackson this week, the Chargers’ prized free agency acquisition who has struggled thus far. Jackson has only played in three games due to an ankle injury, but he’s already allowed 245 receiving yards per PFF, and his coverage grade has plummeted so far.

Sutton has had 70+ receiving yards in four of his five games this season, and his 46 targets are by far the team-high – he has a 27.1% target share. I also love the odds on Sutton to score a touchdown in this game at +170. He has four red-zone targets this year, by far the most (other than Javonte Williams, who’s now out for the year). Sutton can take advantage of the Chargers’ secondary near the goal-line.

On the Chargers’ side, I love this matchup for Austin Ekeler, and you can find his rushing yardage prop at 59.5 yards on FanDuel. After a rocky start to the year, he’s now gone over that number in each of his last two games. This week, he faces a Denver run defense that ranks 15th in DVOA and 20th in yards per carry allowed. With Justin Herbert likely finding it difficult to move the ball through the air against this defense, look for Ekeler to be a focal point.

I’ll also include Ekeler’s touchdown prop in this SGP at -135 odds. I hate playing minus money touchdown scorers in general, but it makes sense in the context of this overall SGP that we’re playing. After not scoring in the first three games of the season, Ekeler has five total touchdowns in his last two games, and he scored in both games against Denver last season.

As always, feel free to pick and choose what you like from this SGP and add anything else you like from this game. However, here’s the five-leg SGP I’m rolling with:

  • Denver Broncos +4.5 (-114)
  • Courtland Sutton Over 68.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
  • Courtland Sutton Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+170)
  • Austin Ekeler Over 59.5 Rushing Yards (-113)
  • Austin Ekeler Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-135)

Full SGP Odds: +1994 ($10 wins $199.49)
