Bryson DeChambeau Favored to Win the Masters at +750 on DraftKings
The Masters: Odds and Best Bets
Contents
The 2020 Masters are about to start. In what has been a very odd year for all sports, golf has seen some of its most successful viewership. The Masters at Augusta is one of the most famous golf tournaments year-in and year-out. So, if you are looking to place a little money on the line, let us go over some of the odds for the biggest names in golf.
DraftKings Sportsbook will be used for odds.
The Powerhouses
There are five names in golf right now that can be argued to simply be bigger than the rest. Where do these 5 come in for their odds of winning Augusta?
Bryson DeChambeau +750
Coming off of a dominant performance at the U.S. Open absolutely wiping the floor with the field, DeChambeau was always going to be one of the favorites heading into Augusta. It seems that Bryson always gives himself a chance to compete in big tournaments. However, while he is looking to be getting hot at the right time, I do not know if I love the value at +750. I believe that the U.S. Open win has skyrocketed his price past where I would like to bet.
Dustin Johnson +850
Dustin Johnson is second in odds here, coming off of a memorable PGA 2020 Tour season. Johnson took the Tour Championship and now has placed 6th, and 2nd in the U.S. and Houston opens, respectively. I actually peg Dustin Johnson as my favorite to win this tournament as his form for the past year has just been a tier above the rest. Johnson barely missed out on tying Tiger last year at Augusta and ended up 1-stroke off the lead when it was all said and done. I believe that Johnson performs once again and has a great opportunity to win it.
Jon Rahm +1050
John Rahm may have just hit the greatest golf shot that I have ever seen during his Tuesday practice round. He skipped the ball across the pond at 16 and got a lucky roll to end up in the hole. This shot is all over social media, and people cannot get enough of it.
Rahm had a good PGA Tour season and is always in the talk for winning any major event. His golfing in the second-half of 2020 has been a little inconsistent compared to the two men above him; however, if that hole in one can bode his confidence, there is no telling what Rahm can do at Augusta.
Rory McIlroy +1300
Rory started out the 2020 PGA season on fire; however, his form has taken a dip ever since the return of golf in June. I am not too high on this pick, but Rory is an extraordinarily great golfer who can win any event. I would not be putting money on this one, but +1300 is not the worst value for his talent. I think that adding Rory at +150 for the top 10 to a parlay is a great idea.
Justin Thomas +1300
Justin Thomas, at +1300, is my second favorite value on this list next to Dustin Johnson. Thomas came in 8th at the U.S. Open and had a solid 2019 campaign. Thomas is as skilled as every player on this list, and getting him at +1300 seems like a very, very good value pick.
Justin Thomas does not have the best track record in Augusta, finishing 39th, 22nd, 17th, and 12th. However, what we can say is that he has improved every single time he has taken on the Augusta course. This could be the year that he finally figures it out and leaves with a Masters win.
Dart Throw: Sungjae Im +10,000
Sungjae Im is not a household name. However, two tournaments, the Tour Championship and The Honda Classic have both given me a ton of confidence in him to win any tournament. At +10,000, I have no worries about throwing a $10 bet on Sungjae Im to come out of nowhere and take home one of, if not the most, prestigious victories in golf. However, he has never played at Augusta before, and that will be a huge disadvantage for him.
