Caesars Entertainment and the Fiesta Bowl are Teaming Up

Caesars Logo Icon 150x150For the first time ever, we’re going to see a college bowl game team up with a sports betting company. The Fiesta Bowl Organization has just announced its plans for a partnership with Caesars Entertainment. The Fiesta Bowl is a beloved annual college football bowl that will likely see even more popularity when you consider the future of sports betting in Arizona.

Caesars plans to have their own fan lounges for both the Fiesta Bowl and the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. The plan even includes a sportsbook and bar where fans can place bets right next to Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Sports Betting in Arizona

The partnership news is likely connected to legal sports betting in Arizona, which kicks off on September 9th, 2021. This comes after numerous attempts to legalize sports wagering in the Copper State. But, thanks to a bill passed in April, 20 licenses have been given to the state’s professional teams and tribal casinos.

The legalization date is perfect timing for NFL bettors in Arizona as the regular season officially starts on September 9 when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is an especially huge victory since the state used to not even allow daily fantasy sports, but that looks to change as well.

Fiesta Bowl 2022

With sports betting in place in Arizona, the 51st annual PlayStation Fiesta Bowl is scheduled for January 1, 2022, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Last year’s game saw the No. 10 Iowa State Cyclones beat the No. 25 Oregon Ducks 34-17, thanks in part to Breece Hall’s 136 yard, 2 touchdown day. This was great news for anyone who took Iowa State -5.5, but not so much for any bettor that went over on the 58 point total.

Deal Details

While no official numbers were given for the agreement, we do know that it’s a multi-year partnership between Caesars and the Fiesta Bowl. Additionally, Caesars will be the presenting partner for the Fiesta Bowl kickoff luncheon and title partner for pregame parties.

Between the very first sports betting partnership for a college bowl game and the upcoming legalization of sports betting in Arizona, things are looking bright for the future of sports wagering across the U.S.

Arizona Sports Betting Outlook

Arizona bettors are definitely looking forward to putting a few bucks on their hometown teams. The Arizona Cardinals are currently listed at to win the Super Bowl, according to Caesars Sportsbook. Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns are to win the NBA Championship a year after losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the finals.

The outlook’s a little less sunny for the Arizona Coyotes, who are facing odds to win the Stanley Cup. The books also don’t seem too confident about Arizona college football teams, with Arizona State () and Arizona () looking at lofty odds. When it comes to college basketball, Arizona is looking at odds to win it all compared to Arizona State at . But none of these numbers compare to the current odds on the Arizona Diamondbacks to win the World Series.
