Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons Player Props (10/31/21)
Contents
The Carolina Panthers are on a bit of a rough slide right now, going 0-4 after a promising 3-0 start. Now, the team has questions from top to bottom, especially on the offensive side of the ball. The Atlanta Falcons, on the other hand, are performing better than many expected, sitting at 3-3 and coming off a comeback win over the Miami Dolphins. The Falcons host the Panthers in a showdown between NFC South competitors this Sunday. Here are the player props you should take a look at.
If I can be honest, I expected Matt Ryan to regress quite a bit this season. However, he’s been playing at a high level so far, complete with a 3:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Plus, he’s still putting some mustard on the ball, as he currently has three different games over 300 yards. His past two games, Ryan has passed for 336 and 342 yards, thanks in part to him gelling with rookie tight end Kyle Pitts. The Carolina defense can be stingy against the passing game, but Ryan’s on fire right now and he’s got no shortage of targets.
Chuba Hubbard Under 91.5 Rushing Yards
Chuba Hubbard was in a great position to make a name for himself when Christian McCaffrey went down. However, he hasn’t been picking up the slack for this Panthers offense. Outside of a 101-yard performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, Hubbard hasn’t been tearing it up in the ground game. Take out that game and he’s averaging 48.6 yards as a starter and has only found the end zone once. The Falcons might not have the best defense in the league, but they’ll put up enough points that the Panthers will quickly abandon the run game.
Hayden Hurst Over 19.5 Yards
Starting tight end Kyle Pitts has been on fire lately. The young pass catcher is on pace for nearly 1,300 yards, and he’s clicking with veteran QB Matt Ryan. And, thanks to this, opposing defenses will key in on Pitts in the near future. This opens up plenty of opportunities for backup Hayden Hurst, who’s been getting some looks the past few games. In the last three weeks, Hurst is averaging 34.6 yards per game. I’m expecting him to continue racking up yards as the Panthers key in on Pitts. Hurst should pass 19.5 receiving yards with ease.
Sam Darnold Over 0.5 Interceptions
Some people thought that Sam Darnold just needed a change of scenery to start playing at a higher level. So far, that hasn’t been the case. Darnold has eight picks on the year and has tossed at least one interception in four straight games. In fact, he’s totaled seven total interceptions along that stretch. The former first round pick is seeing ghosts again, and that’s not going to stop on Halloween against the Falcons. Atlanta hasn’t been forcing takeaways, but I can see Darnold forcing the ball more than once in this matchup.
