Carolina Panthers vs. New York Giants Player Props (10/24/21)

The Carolina Panthers are probably feeling a bit down. The team just had three straight close losses against three strong opponents in the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Minnesota Vikings. The team is probably a little shaken up after a 3-0 start, so a win is necessary to keep morale going. On the topic of morale, the New York Giants could definitely use some. The team is sitting at 1-5 and the bottom of the NFC East, coming off a 38-11 blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams. When the Giants host the Panthers at MetLife Stadium this Sunday, let’s take a look at the player props you should consider wagering on.

Sam Darnold Over 236.5 Passing Yards

What a strange journey it’s been for Sam Darnold, from the Jets to the Panthers to 3-0 to 3-3. In the Panthers free fall, it’s been easy to forget that Darnold strung together three straight 300-yard games against the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and New Orleans Saints in consecutive weeks this season. He’s facing a New York Giants defense that currently ranks 22nd in pass defense, allowing 264.3 yards per game. Darnold should have a return to form this week against a weak team.

Evan Engram Under 31.5 Receiving Yards

Honestly, would you feel comfortable betting the over on any of these New York Giants offensive props? Engram especially has been nonessential to the offense this season. In fact, in four games so far this season, he’s gone over his projected 31.5 yardage total once. The cherry on top? He’s dealing with an injury, much like the majority of the Giants offense. Take the under for Engram as we might well be watching the final year of the Danny Dimes offense.

Chuba Hubbard Over 74.5 Rushing Yards

The Panthers need to get Chuba Hubbard involved more. The running back had a very successful game against the Philadelphia Eagles, amassing 101 yards and a 4.2 average. He’s not making fans forget about Christian McCaffrey by any means, but he’s been productive when needed. Hubbard is also facing on of the worst run defenses in the league right now. The Giants are allowing137.2 rush yards per game. Plus, you have to expect Hubbard to get some carries as the Panthers try to bleed the clock. Take Hubbard over his total and don’t be too surprised if he hits 100 yards with ease.

Sam Darnold Over 1.5 Passing Yards

This is by no means a lock, but I like the number at +110. Darnold is facing a weak defense, and I could see this becoming a major blowout if the offense gets rolling. Darnold’s gone over 1.5 TDs twice this season, and he’ll have some opportunities if the Giants have trouble covering the Panthers rushing attack. As long as Darnold has D.J. Moore in the lineup, Darnold is a threat to make some big passing plays. I would also take a look at Darnold to score a TD on the ground, as he’s had some definite success with his legs this season.
