Chargers Vs. Chiefs (9/15/22) Thursday Night Football Same Game Parlay Strategy + Picks

Week 2 of the NFL season is here, and the Thursday Night Football game between the Chargers and Chiefs has piqued everyone’s interest. The fireworks are sure to be on display between Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert, and it provides plenty of opportunities for player prop bets. This article will focus on the best options if you are looking to build a Same Game Parlay for the game.

Same Game Parlays are a great way to boost your profit on a football game as you can combine different props for a much bigger payout. In SGPs, correlation are the most important aspect, as we want to select bets that are likely to happen together. Let’s dive into our options for this week.

Chargers Vs. Chiefs NFL Week 2 Thursday Night Football Same Game Parlay

With Keenan Allen out for the Chargers, much of the focus will be on Josh Palmer, and I’m expecting him to be one of the most popular player for prop bets this week. In the game that Allen missed last year, Palmer played on 62 of 66 snaps and finished with five catches for 66 yards and a touchdown. He’ll likely be the WR2 this week behind Mike Williams. Let’s start with Palmer’s yardage total and touchdown prop.

On the Chiefs’ side, I’m loving JuJu Smith-Schuster this week. JuJu had six catches for 79 yards in the first half alone last week, which made up the entirety of his production as he didn’t have a catch in the second half. As the season goes on, I’d expect that first half involvement to be the norm for him as the top receiver sans Tyreek Hill. Let’s add in Smith-Schuster over 57.5 yards and anytime TD scorer.

Full Same Game Parlay on FanDuel:

  • Josh Palmer Over 45.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
  • Josh Palmer Anytime TD Scorer (+270)
  • JuJu Smith-Schuster Over 57.5 Receiving Yards (-120)
  • JuJu Smith-Schuster Anytime TD Scorer (+150)

NFL Week 2 Thursday Night Football Same Game Parlay Bankroll Builder

In each of these SGP articles, I’m also focusing on a bankroll builder parlay that will provide even money as a result of a handful of lower odds props combined together. This Thursday Night Football game provides a ton of opportunities for a bankroll builder parlay.

For starters, I want to tie in the two elite quarterbacks in this game. Justin Herbert’s alternate passing yardage total provides us a launching off point at 225 yards. We can get -550 value on that prop, and Herbert has hit that number in each of his last nine games.

In addition, I’ll grab Patrick Mahomes over 250 passing yards at -390, probably the best value on the board. Mahomes hit that number in 18 of his 20 games last year and had 360 passing yards last week.

Next, let’s add in a pass-catcher from each team. First, let’s take Travis Kelce at 50+ receiving yards for -470 value. Kelce got off to a strong start with 121 yards last week and he has averaged 90.8 yards over his last five games. In two games against the Chargers last week, he averaged 147.5 yards per game.

I’m also adding Mike Williams at 40+ receiving yards for -650 value. He averaged 85.5 yards per game in two appearances against the Chiefs last year, and while he struggled in Week 1, Williams will be a necessity in the offense after Keenan Allen’s injury.

Finally, I added the alternate points total over 41.5, which is bought down considerably from the normal total of 53.5. As always, feel free to mix and match these props to come up with a value proposition you feel comfortable with.

Full Bankroll Builder on FanDuel:

  • Justin Herbert 225+ Passing Yards (-550)
  • Patrick Mahomes 250+ Passing Yards (-390)
  • Travis Kelce 50+ Receiving Yards (-470)
  • Mike Williams 40+ Receiving Yards (-650)
  • Alternate Total Points Over 41.5 (-620)

Full Same Game Parlay Odds: +119 ($10 wins $11.92)
