Kansas City Chiefs Vs. New York Jets Same Game Parlay Picks
The initial expectation was that this game would feature Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers, but Rodgers’s season-ending Achilles injury means we’ll see Zach Wilson on Sunday night. While Wilson has struggled to gain traction in this offense, that doesn’t mean we can’t find some value in the Same Game Parlay department. Let’s get to work.
Leg 1: Travis Kelce Anytime Touchdown (-125)
Travis Kelce is currently on a five-game scoring streak dating back to last season, and he’s one of the most reliable red zone weapons in the NFL. Kelce has scored in both games this season, including last week against the Bears with Taylor Swift in attendance.
Of course, we have to talk about the Swift aspect here. The pop star will be in attendance in East Rutherford to watch Kelce play, and he’ll be extra motivated to score in front of her like he was last week. Against the Bears, he was on the field late into the third quarter despite the Chiefs holding a significant lead.
The Jets’ defense is outstanding across the board, but it’s worth noting that they’ve been somewhat vulnerable against tight ends. New York has allowed the fifth-most receiving yards and seventh-most yards per reception to the tight end position.
Leg 2: Zach Wilson Over 0.5 Interceptions (-145)
While he didn’t throw an interception last week, Zach Wilson had thrown a pick in four straight games prior to that. Wilson has a 3.9% turnover-worthy play rate which is tied for the seventh-highest among 34 qualified quarterbacks. The Chiefs will put pressure on Wilson behind a shaky offensive line – they rank 9th in the NFL in pressure rate.
Wilson threw three interceptions two weeks ago against the Cowboys, so he could go way over just one pick in this game. That would be especially true if the Chiefs build a big lead and the Jets find themselves in an obvious passing game script. With a spread of 8.5 points, the books are expecting that could be the case.
Leg 3: Kansas City Chiefs Moneyline (-440)
The Chiefs are 8.5-point road favorites for this game, and while I like the Jets to cover that hefty spread, I believe Kansas City should win here. In addition to the Jets’ concerning quarterback situation without Aaron Rodgers, their offensive line has left a lot to be desired. It’s tough to imagine them pulling off the home upset here with how dominant the Chiefs’ defense has looked through three weeks.
Leg 4: Kansas City Chiefs to Score First (-200)
It’s a similar prop to everything we’ve already broken down, but I like adding this correlated leg to get some better odds on our overall SGP. The Chiefs have only been the first team to score in one of their three games so far this season, but the two where they didn’t were against the Jaguars and Lions. The Jets don’t offer the same upside offensively as those teams.
