Cleveland Browns vs. Carolina Panthers NFL Player Props (9/11/22)
Contents
The Panthers host the Browns on Sunday in what many are already calling the Baker Mayfield revenge game. Mayfield facing his former team will get the headlines, but it could be the running backs that carry the weight of their respective offenses in this one. With some new pieces playing major roles for both teams, who’s in line to fill the stat sheet?
Keep an eye on these player props that could produce great value on Sunday.

Jacoby Brissett Under 200.5 Passing Yards
Jacoby Brissett, a solid backup thrust into a starting role with Deshaun Watson suspended, threw for 200+ yards in three of his five starts last season, but that mark comes with a caveat: he threw 49, 39, and 43 passes in those three games, respectively. It’s almost impossible for Brissett to pass the 200-yard mark without throwing a high volume of passes, and there’s no reason for the Browns’ offense to be pass-heavy in Week 1.
Kevin Stefanski figures to lean on Nick Chubb and the running game against what was a middling Panthers run defense last season. Stefanski has seen enough to know Chubb gives Cleveland the best chance to win, and unless the Browns fall in a major hole early on, I can’t see Brissett passing enough to produce serious yardage.
Nick Chubb Over 73.5 Rushing Yards
On that note, Chubb should be in line for a big Week 1 performance. One of the NFL’s most efficient running backs since the day he entered the league, Chubb averaged 5.5 yards/carry last season and rushed for 80+ yards in 9 of his 14 games. Chubb posted 80+ rushing yards nearly every time he received 15+ carries, the only exception being a 59-yard performance against the Ravens.
All he needs to produce are the carries. As long as Chubb is given a sizable workload against the Panthers, which should be a given with Brissett under center, 74+ yards is easily within reach. Alternate lines on Chubb’s rushing yards, such as 90+ yards (+178) or 100+ yards (+260) may even be in play as long as Kareem Hunt doesn’t soak up too many carries.
Robbie Anderson Under 2.5 Receptions
If you look at Robbie Anderson’s 2021 production, 3+ receptions looks like an easily attainable mark. It’s no longer 2021, however, and the Panthers are entering the season with a new quarterback along with some new weapons. What was pretty much a two-man receiving corps last season now has a wealth of options. Beyond D.J. Moore, Anderson has to compete for targets with Rashard Higgins, Laviska Shenault, Terrace Marshall Jr., and even a healthy Christian McCaffrey.
It was reported during camp that Higgins, a favorite target of Baker Mayfield in Cleveland, could take some targets away from Anderson. Anderson has also been dealing with a quad injury, though there’s no question he’ll play this Sunday. With a wide range of options and the uncertainty of a new quarterback under center, no Panthers receiver other than D.J. Moore is a safe bet to produce in Week 1.
