Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers Player Props (9/20/21)

Week 2 wraps up with an NFC North divisional matchup between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. Taking a look at player props, there is a lot of faith in the Packers offense returning to form against a hapless Lions defense that gave up 41 to the 49ers just a week ago. I am certainly in belief that the Packers will bounce back this week, which results in some interesting player props to take a look at for this week on both sides. You can use the player prop search below to type in any name and props will pop up alongside updated odds.

D’Andre Swift Over 4.5 Receptions

Coming off an eight-catch week in a come-from-behind effort against the 49ers, D’Andre Swift has a reception prop of 4.5 in this one and 3.5 on some sites. Detroit will continue to be in a lot of play from behind games and the way their offense is set up, a lot of targets went to running backs last week.

I’d expect more of the same and certainly usage of both backs. Swift had 11 targets in Week 1 while Jamaal Williams had 9. Both led all Week 1 running backs. Green Bay ranked 27th in DVOA against running backs as receivers, and this is a good spot for Swift to capitalize on the matchup and game script.

T.J. Hockenson Over 54.5 Receiving Yards

T.J. Hockenson had a monster Week 1 as the primary wide receiver that wasn’t a running back. He caught 9-of-11 targets against San Francisco and I’d expect him to be a target hog this week as well. Hockenson has averaged seven targets per game in the three meetings against Green Bay in his career. This is really the first year he is going to be an alpha in this offense.

The game script is going to be positive for the Lions receivers and will be able to get a ton of volume to offset the efficiency issues due to Jared Goff being under center. Hockenson’s volume alone should get him over this mark this week.

Davante Adams Over 88.5 Receiving Yards

The props for Adams to score a touchdown and go over 88.5 receiving yards are very appealing here. Also, love using them in single-game parlays. Focusing on better odds, I like the over for receiving yards. Detroit’s secondary is going to be one to pick on all year and they just lost Jeff Okudah for the year.

Adams is going to be a mismatch against the remaining secondary players of Detroit and should lead the team in targets on a night where the Packers put up a crooked number.

Aaron Jones Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Detroit picked up where they left off last season, allowing two touchdowns on the ground. They allowed 19 touchdowns on the ground last season to running backs and another 10 through the air to backs. That led the league, of course, and Jones is in a great spot after a rough Week 1.

Green Bay has an implied total of 30 and is -11 at home. This sets up a positive game script for Jones if all goes according to plan, which I envision the Packers offense starting to click again this week.
