Detroit Lions vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Player Props (11/14/21)
Contents
The Detroit Lions may well be on their way to an 0-17 season. The team has had some competitive games, such as a 19-17 narrow loss against the Baltimore Ravens, and some major blowouts, such as the 44-6 thumping by the Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Dan Campbell could very well be one and done if he doesn’t turn things around quickly. The Pittsburgh Steelers, on the other hand, have had some surprising successes this year, and currently sit at 5-3 and in full contention in the AFC North division. They’re not blowing teams out every week, but they’re finding ways to win when they need to. With the Lions heading to Heinz Field this Sunday, here are some player props to keep an eye on.
Jared Goff Under 235.5 Passing Yards
Taking a look at Goff’s passing totals is not pretty. The QB started off the season strong with a 338-yard performance against the San Francisco 49ers. Since then, he has yet to notch a 300-yard game. He’s gone under 235.5 passing yards four times this season, and I’m questioning if he’ll be able to ait it out against an often-stingy Pittsburgh defense. Put a sprinkle on the under as the former number one pick continues to struggle.
Jared Goff Under 0.5 Interceptions
Although he’s not going to rip apart the Pittsburgh defense, I wouldn’t be surprised if Goff goes without an interception. Yes, he’s thrown six on the year, but he has a favorable matchup here. The Steelers haven’t been ballhawks this season, with only three interceptions so far. Not giving a ton of credit to Goff, but he’s going to need to avoid turnovers in order for the team to have any chance of winning. I think he’ll get the message this week and go without a pick.
D’Andre Swift Under 47.5 Rushing Yards
As someone with D’Andre Swift in a fantasy league, he’s been frustrating to watch this season. wife has only surpassed 50 yards once this season, and he’s currently averaging an abysmal 3.2 yards per rush. The team is clearly not dedicated to the run, and I don’t expect that to change this week. The Pittsburgh front seven is going to be to overwhelm Detroit all Sunday long, and I don’t expect that to change this week. Fade Swift for another week as I consider finally dropping him from my fantasy lineup.
T.J. Hockenson Over 4.5 Receptions
Alright, I’m finally going to say something positive about a Detroit playmaker. T.J. Hockenson might not be the best tight end in the league, but he’s putting together numbers. He’s averaging eight catches per game over the past three weeks, and it looks like he and Goff are starting to click. With pressure up front from T.J. Watt all day long, Goff is going to rely on Hockenson as a safety valve throughout Sunday’s game. Take the over on the talented young tight end to keep hauling in catches this week.
