DraftKings Drops NFL Player Total Specials

One of our favorite ways to bet on the NFL season is through season total prop bets. DraftKings offers props on passing yards, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and rushing yards, and these can be great ways to root for specific players all season long. For example, I placed a wager on Stefon Diggs to have over 975.5 receiving yards last season and the Bills’ receiver finished with 1,535 yards. With some exciting rookies entering the NFL and veteran players changing teams, there are some compelling over/under total bets to take a look at for this season. Don’t forget, with the NFL switching to a 17-game schedule, it is likely we see some impressive volume numbers from players this season.

Rookie Quarterbacks

Trevor Lawrence

The new Jaguars’ quarterback has the chance to put up some stellar numbers in his first season. Head coach Urban Meyer, wide receivers Marvin Jones, D.J. Chark, and Laviska Shenault, and running backs Travis Etienne and James Robinson will set Lawrence up for early success. Jacksonville has a brutal defense so Lawrence may need to throw the ball a lot in his rookie season.

Passing yards: O/U 4,150.5

Zach Wilson

The former BYU passer enters a very exciting offense with new receivers in tow in rookie Elijah Moore and veteran Corey Davis. Those two join Jamison Crowder, Denzel Mims, and Keelan Cole in a talented pass-catching crop. The lack of proven running back talent also increases the likelihood for Wilson to have a productive rookie season.

Passing yards: O/U 3,850.5

Veteran Quarterbacks

Ryan Tannehill

The Titans’ quarterback has seen some impressive success since switching over from the Dolphins a couple of years ago, and this offense should receive a massive boost after the trade for Julio Jones. Tannehill threw for 3,819 yards last season, but with the addition of a Hall of Fame receiver could Tannehill surpass 4,000 yards across a 17-game slate?

Passing yards: O/U 4,050.5

Matthew Stafford

After a long and fruitless career in Detroit, Matthew Stafford has to be thrilled about the move out to Los Angeles. Rams’ head coach Sean McVay has a special way with quarterbacks and could coach career-best play out of Stafford, especially with Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp providing a talented receiver duo.

Passing yards: O/U 4,700.5

Skill Position Players

Julio Jones

The future Hall of Fame receiver played in just 9 games last season and had just 771 receiving yards last year. That snapped a six-year streak of 1,300+ receiving yards. However, his 16-game pace was still good for over 1,300 yards. With his new team, the passing volume may be reduced as Tennessee is so reliant on the running game through Derrick Henry. However, there could be some value with Jones’s current over/under line.

Receiving yards: O/U 1,000.5

Tim Tebow

Will the former Heisman-winning quarterback turned tight end even make the roster in Jacksonville? Will he be involved in the offense at all? Those are questions we just don’t know the answer to, but with the buzz surrounding the former QB potentially filling a Taysom Hill-like gadget role for this offense, his over/under on receiving yards and touchdowns could be an interesting way to get some action on the fan-favorite.

Receiving yards: O/U 12.5

Receiving touchdowns: O/U 0.5
