DraftKings Hauls in Another Partnership with Professional Fighters League

draftkings sportsbook mobile appDraftKings has secured partnerships left and right this past year. Well, DraftKings tallies another partnership deal as you can now officially bet on the Professional Fighters League with the sportsbook. The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is a mixed martial arts competition. The partnership was announced yesterday and had some very exciting details for the bettors and viewers of the league.

The PFL had recently raised $65 million in February, according to CNBC, which brought their totals up to $175 million raised. The sport and the league are advancing, and it seems that DraftKings saw a potential opportunity to get in before its rival sportsbooks. This deal will be mutually beneficial to help expand the sport and help bring in more bettors to DraftKings.

Deal Details

The agreement between the PFL and DraftKings is reportedly worth at least $10 million if not more. The length of the contract was also not disclosed, but it is being touted as a multi-year deal. Of course, the big thing coming with this deal is the ability to simply wager on the PFL with all kinds of wagers being offered by DraftKings.

Another large part of this deal is the DraftKings Sportsbook being a centerpiece of future PFL events. There will be DraftKings odds offered during the live broadcast of PFL events. DraftKings will also be the main sponsor of the PFL pre-game show. This is a no-brainer, as the odds provided by DraftKings can be highlighted by commentator and analyst alongside the advanced stats that the PFL loves to boast on its broadcasts.

The PFL is currently broadcasted on ESPN, which is owned by Disney. It will be interesting to see DraftKings on another program hosted by ESPN. One may wonder if there may be a future with ESPN and Disney partnering with a sportsbook like DraftKings.

DraftKings Wheeling and Dealing

nfllogosmallThis is the second deal that has been covered in under a week by DraftKings as the sportsbook just recently announced that it had become an official betting partner of the National Football League. Obviously, that news was quite a bit bigger, but DraftKings is slowly taking over new market after new market.

When looking at smaller leagues such as the Professional Fighters League or the Premier Lacrosse League, DraftKings is building up and expanding when it comes to sports betting. It is making its platform the go-to destination with the league and, in doing so, bringing in all the possible betting fans for that sport. Then, there are even more niche leagues like the American Cornhole League or The Drone Racing League that have signed exclusive betting partnerships.

While this may not seem like a big deal, small sports do bring in a lot of wagers. In fact, table tennis is one of the most popular sports to bet on in several states. So, you never know what is going to drive a huge engagement, and having exclusive betting offers for these sports is a massive plus.

In essence, DraftKings is corning the smaller league market while also simultaneously securing the massive deals that it needs to like the National Football League.
