DraftKings Illinois NFL Week 6 Best Bet
Chicago Bears vs Carolina Panthers
The Chicago Bears enter this game with a record of 4-1 as they are coming off of a close win against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week by a score of 20-19. The Carolina Panthers enter this game on a three-game winning streak after dropping their first two games of the season for a record of 3-2. The Panthers defeated the Atlanta Falcons last week 23-16.
Nick Foles has replaced Mitchell Trubisky a few weeks back as the starting quarterback in Chicago. So far, Foles has been solid under center and has helped rejuvenate a Bears team that, despite starting the season 2-0, looked a little off. Now, the Chicago offense seems to be trending upwards (since they can’t go anywhere but up), despite ranking near the bottom of the league in most major categories. The Bears are 27th in points scored per game but lucky for them, their defense is fourth in points allowed per game.
Carolina has been a bit of a surprise over their last three weeks. After starting 0-2 and losing their franchise running back Christian McCaffrey, all seemed lost in Carolina. However, they have gone on to win their next three games, all without McCaffrey. Now, the Panthers are starting to look like a legit playoff contender with a better than expected offense and a defense that is a respectable 13th in points allowed per game this season.
We should see a lot of running and short passes as both teams will try to control the clock in this game. Both teams rank in the bottom half of the league in points scored per game while both defenses rank in the top half of the league in points allowed. With the Panthers’ inability to turn drives into touchdowns and having to settle for field goals, mixed with a still-shaky Chicago offense, the score in this game should be low.
