How to Qualify
Qualifying contests begin in January 2020. The final chance to earn one of the 100 tickets to the finals will be on May 7. Through the next four months, DFS soccer enthusiasts can play in as many qualifiers as they wish.
Upon winning a third ticket to the finals, players will be given a cash award and the qualifier will be reassigned. Three is the maximum number of tickets any single DFS player can win. For your chance at a chunk of the $150,000, all you need to do is build a winning soccer lineup in one or more of the satellite qualifying contests.
Lineup Strategy
Lineup cards are built using the DraftKings classic soccer rules. There is a $50,000 salary limit for each lineup. Each soccer player will have a salary assigned to them. These salaries may change during the season.
Lineups are composed of one goalkeeper, two defenders, two midfielders, two forwards and a utility player that can be any player other than a goalie. Players will be available who are on an active roster for the games scheduled during the qualifier.
Keep in mind that goals are valuable in DraftKings classic soccer scoring. Goals net a total of 10 fantasy points per score. Assists will earn your lineup six-points. Goalies get five fantasy points for the win and another five points for a clean sheet.
Other peripheral soccer statistics such as shots, passes and interceptions will add one-point to your score. Don’t forget the MLS award for secondary assists. This type of assist will net the same as a primary assist for DraftKings classic soccer scoring.
Prizes
All 100 KOTP qualifiers will bring home some cash from the finals. The top scoring lineup will win $25,000. Second and third place finishers will win $15,000 and $10,000 respectfully. Even the bottom 25 qualifiers will net $500 cash.
During the qualifying rounds, the top score will earn the one available ticket into the finals. There are cash awards for places that do not win the ultimate qualifying prize. The cash awards vary in relation to the entry fee for any individual satellite qualifier.
There will be $150,000 worth of prizes on the table when the live online final is held in May. Not every DFS soccer enthusiast can win the $25,000 top prize, but every qualifier wins cash. One thing is certain, and that is if you don’t jump in the game and play the KOTP qualifying rounds, you can’t make it to the finals. Give it your best corner kick today and go for the GOAL!
