With October being a month to focus on breast cancer awareness, DraftKings is once again teaming up with one of the all-time greatest players to raise money for support and research.

DraftKings will be using pools on its platform to contribute to the Larry Fitzgerald Foundation, which has a focus on breast cancer awareness. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming DraftKings Pink ‘Em pools this October, as well as a look at what former NFL wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is doing with his charity and beyond.

DraftKings & Larry Fitzgerald Foundation Collaborating For Charity Initiative

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and DraftKings is once again putting together an online initiative to raise funds. The Pink ’Em charity event from DraftKings is preparing for its fourth year in collaboration with the Larry Fitzgerald Foundation. The aim of the event is to raise a total of $100,000 to contribute to breast cancer research, as well as to provide aid for those affected by the disease.

The Pink ‘Em initiative started in 2019, and has raised over $330,000 in total donations. This is generally done through the platform’s offerings such as pick ’em pools and free-to-play games.

The team-up with the Larry Fitzgerald Foundation makes a lot of sense. Not only is the organization focused on breast cancer awareness, but Fitzgerald recently joined DraftKings as a brand ambassador. Fitzgerald joins a number of recent brand ambassadors such as comedian Kevin Hart and musician Steve Aoki.

A Deeper Look At The DraftKings Pink ‘Em Pools

The money for the foundation will be raised through exclusive DraftKings pools throughout the month of October. These pools will be featured on the DraftKings platform and be available from Week 4 to Week 8 of the NFL season. Basically, DraftKings players will build their own lineups every week for the big prize of $5,000 in DK Dollars.

The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation will receive $1 from DraftKings for every 20,000 entries in the Pink ‘Em Pool each week. While DraftKings generally holds a number of different free-to-play pools with different sponsors each week, this one has the aim of raising thousands of dollars for a positive cause.

Larry Fitzgerald Continues Post-Career Legacy

Larry Fitzgerald might not be suiting up every Sunday any more, but the future Hall of Fame wide receiver is still keeping busy. Earlier this month, it was announced that Fitzgerald would be joining the ESPN broadcast team for Monday Night Countdown. Additionally, he is on the Let’s Go! podcast alongside QB Tom Brady and sportscaster Jim Gray.

Fitzgerald played from 2004-2020 with the Arizona Cardinals, amassing over 17,000 yards and 121 touchdowns. The receiver also played in Super Bowl XLIII, hauling in seven catches for 127 yards and two scores. In 2005, in just his second year in the league, he founded the Larry Fitzgerald Foundation, which focuses on breast cancer awareness and youth education.
