Top Pitchers
John Means ($8,400) vs Rays– Means is the lone all-star on this Orioles club and for good reason. He is 7-4 on the season with a 2.50 ERA and has consistently been the best option on the mound for the Orioles. He has not allowed more than 2 ER in any of his last 5 starts and hasn’t allowed more than 3 in the last 9. Means will be going up against a good Rays team but they aren’t explosive on the offensive end. He won’t “wow” you with K numbers but he limits opponents enough to where laying $8,000 tonight on him is a non-issue for me.
Cal Quantrill ($5,000) vs Giants– Quantrill has been in the bullpen for the last week for the Padres but he will be making the start in the closing game of their series vs the Giants. Out of the pen he has done well with the exception of 1 outing and during his stint as a starter he showed flashes of being a decent middle rotation guy. He has struggled out of the gate allowing early runs but then settling down as the game goes on. Due to his move to the bullpen he is priced cheaply tonight but I still think you can get value for him even if he only goes 5 innings.

Nelson Cruz ($5,000) vs Athletics– Nelson Cruz has been knocking in a good amount of runs lately for his Twins squad coming into tonight’s game with 10 RBI’s in his last 6 games. He also has 3 home runs in his last 3 games. He is a power threat going up against A’s starter Tanner Anderson who has allowed 10 ER in his last two starts and has allowed 15 hits in 6.2 innings pitched so the opportunities should be there for Cruz tonight.
Adalberto Mondesi ($4,800) vs Indians– Fresh off of an IL stint Royals SS Adalberto Mondesi came back going 1/3 with a 2 run home run and a run scoring single against the Indians last night. While we don’t expect to see a lot of power Mondesi showed earlier this season that he is one of the best run producing speed threats in all of baseball. With these tools he can easily come away with double digit points and against struggling Indians SP Mike Clevinger I’m hoping he will do that tonight.
Daniel Murphy ($4,300) vs Astros– Daniel Murphy is always a threat, especially at home playing at Coors Field. He comes into tonight’s game with 10 hits in his last 8 games and is hitting in the middle of a potent Rockies lineup. He will also be going up against lefty Wade Miley tonight and Murphy has seen lefties well all year hitting .340 in 50 ABs vs lefty pitching this season. At this price at Coors Field Murphy seems like a steal.
Jorge Soler ($3,700) vs Indians– Soler’s average may only be around .230 but he is hitting it well coming into tonight’s game with 5 hits in his last 3 games with 3 R 2 HR and 4 RBI’s. He has also seen the ball extremely well vs Indians SP Mike Clevinger hitting .667 with 3 2Bs in 9 career ABs vs the righty pitcher. Getting a guy with almost 60 RBI’s and 25 HRs at this price vs a pitcher he is known to hit this well is a no brainer in my opinion for this slate.
