Top Pitchers
Sonny Gray ($9,100) vs Cardinals– Sonny Gray has been playing well for the Reds and despite his high walk total, 8, over the last two games he has had enough K’s and hasn’t allowed any runs so his fantasy performances have been good. He has 14 Ks across his last two games and has only allowed a total of 6 hits in 13 innings against a good lineups in Atlanta and the Cubs. Gray is reasonable priced here taking his form into consideration so taking him against a Cards team whose lineup is worse than the last two teams he dominated is worth it tonight.
Reynaldo Lopez ($7,900) vs Angels– We all know how up and down Reynaldo Lopez has been this year but he has now strung together 5 of 6 starts with 2 ER or less and the 1 game he didn’t he only surrendered 3 runs. The K’s haven’t been there in his last two starts but I expect that to return because that is the type of pitcher Lopez is. Tonight’s pitching slate is very top heavy so getting a pitcher with the upside that Lopez has is a big plus for me. I’m expecting a 18+ FPTS performance from him on the road against the Angels.
Top Hitters
Eugenio Suarez ($4,600) vs Cardinals– Suarez has had his power stroke going over the last week or so with 4 HRs in his last 8 games. Unfortunately, all of these have been solo shots but he has still picked up hits in 7 of his last 8 games so he has value. I love Suarez tonight at home in a hitters ballpark against Cardinals SP Michael Wacha who is coming off a game where he allowed 2 HR and 6 ER. He has also seen Wacha well in his career hitting .391 across 23 career ABs.
Michael Brantley ($4,000) vs Athletics– I’m not exactly sure why Brantley is so cheap tonight. He is coming off of a 4 hit game and he is currently working on a 8 game hit streak. On top of that he has also seen A’s SP Mike Fiers well hitting .357 off of him in 28 career PAs. This is too easy of a pick for me but beware at this price his ownership will probably be sky high.
Jose Abreu ($3,900) vs Angels– Once again I think Jose Abreu is being underpriced by DK, especially in tonight’s slate that only has 6 games. He comes into tonight’s game with 11 hits in his last 7 starts and has gotten on base in 11 straight games. He hasn’t hit for power but he is still producing runs in other ways which is all we need from a guy in this price range.
Khris Davis ($3,400) vs Astros– Khris Davis has been way down this year with only 17 HRs and 53 RBIs and he is starting to lose some starts but I think we can find some spots for him. He has still managed to get on base so his floor has been high he just hasn’t done enough with the bat. I think that can change tonight against Astros SP Aaron Sanchez. Davis has loved hitting vs Sanchez, .571 with a HR in 9 career PAs. Sanchez has been amazing since the trade to Houston but I think he falls back down to earth here. At $3,400 Davis is worth at least a shot.
