DraftKings MLB Daily Fantasy Picks 8/27/19

Top Pitchers
Patrick Corbin ($11,200) vs Orioles– Corbin has been excellent for the Nationals this season and he is coming off of a stellar 8 inning shutout performance vs the Pirates in his last start. He has been striking out a lot of guys this season with 184 Ks in 161.2 innings pitched and going up against the Orioles will be a boost for him. As long as he can get past Jonathan Villar who has been red hot over the past week or so. Corbin is an elite level pitcher so I have no issues paying an elite level price.
Adrian Houser ($5,000) vs Cardinals– Houser continues to be overpriced start after start on DraftKings. Coming into tonight’s game he has only allowed 1 ER in 4 of his last 5 starts and in those starts he has picked up 26 strikeouts. He hasn’t gone deep into games but with his K’s and lack of baserunners allowed he has been a really good fantasy option. Getting a guy who has only scored under 18 FPTS 1 time in his last 5 starts at $5,000 is a no brainer against the Cardinals tonight.
Top Hitters
Anthony Rendon ($5,500) vs Orioles– Rendon is one of the best hitters in the game and not only has he hit but he has gotten on base at an over .400 clip this season. Coming into tonight’s game Rendon has had 7 multi-hit games in his last 12 games and at least 1 hit in all the rest. He already has amassed over 100 RBIs on the season and 29 HRs so he is a do it all type guy, except for stolen bases. He will be up against Orioles SP Aaron Brooks who owns a 6.21 ERA this season so I’m expecting Rendon to get some things done tonight.
Jose Abreu ($4,300) vs Twins– A lot like Houser, I think Jose Abreu is underpriced a lot of the time on DraftKings. He is working on a 7 game hit streak with 11 RBIs in that time and has 100 RBIs on the season which is top 10 in the majors. Yet he is only priced at $4,300, I will never understand why but I will continue to take advantage especially when he is hitting it like this. Twins SP Michael Pineda hasn’t allowed less than 6 hits in each of his last 4 starts so I expect Abreu to take advantage.
Elvis Andrus ($3,800) vs Angels– Elvis is one of the best shortstops in the game but he has been a bit overlooked due to an injury that took some of his season away earlier this year. He is the ultimate high floor guy and with his added speed he can still have very good upside. He has scored at least 5 FPTS in 9 of his last 10 games and he will have a favorable matchup tonight. Against Angels starter Andrew Heaney, Elvis is hitting .350 with a double, 2 homers, and a walk in 21 career PAs. At sub $4,000 he is worth a shot in this full slate.
Martin Maldonado ($2,800) vs Rays– It is important to note that Maldonado hasn’t been playing much for the Astros so it is key to look at the lineup but if he does I think he is worth a shot at this price. He has 2 homers in his last 3 starts and he has been really good vs Rays SP Charlie Morton. In 18 career PAs Maldonado is hitting .539 with a double and 4 BBs vs the veteran right hander. He has been swinging for power lately so I think this could come together to be a ¼ homer type game if he is playing tonight.
