We have another ten games tonight and no real weather concerns to worry about. Following up on yesterday, Jason Heyward and Matt Adams both went yard and found themselves in the value section. Had a few names who didn’t make the lineup and my Coors plays were duds. Max Fried and Kyle Hendricks both hit 17 DK points and were solid options. Tonight we have another Coors game but there are plenty of offenses to target tonight. Chicago, Atlanta, Minnesota, and Houston all have over a five implied total.
Yu Darvish – SP – $10,400
Vs. Kansas City Royals
I am going to go back to the well with a Cubs pitcher, as Yu Darvish gets the same matchup as Kyle Hendricks yesterday. Darvish has bigger strikeout potential and has dialed up a 31% strikeout rate dating back to last season. This Royals lineup has a 23% strikeout rate against right-handers dating back to last season. Chicago are once again big favorites at -195 and the Royals have an implied run total of 3.8.
Randy Dobnak – SP – $7,200
Vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Randy Dobnak is a cheap SP2 option at $7,200 to help you fit in an extra bat or two. He is a solid bet to get a win today with the offense backing him and the Pirates have an implied total of 4.2. He has a small major league sample size but dating back to last season he has a 55% groundball rate and isn’t someone to walk too many hitters either. He also has a nasty curveball that has a 47% whiff rate.
Jorge Polanco – SS – $3,900
Vs. Kevin Gausman
Getting exposure to the Twins is a wise thing to do these days. The offense continues to roll and they are in a great spot tonight. The outfield are all in great spots too, but it was the price of Jorge Polanco that caught my eye. He has a .367 wOBA and .193 ISO off right-handed pitching dating back to last season. He gets Trevor Williams tonight, who has allowed a .386 wOBA to left-handed hitters.
Kris Bryant – 3B/OF – $4,800
Vs. Kris Bubic
Kris Bubic has been hit hard so far at the major league level and I will take a guy who is starting to get back in the groove against him. Kris Bryant has a .441 wOBA and .330 ISO off southpaws dating back to last season.
Yasmani Grandal – C – $4,900
Vs. Adrian Houser
I don’t mind paying up behind the dish tonight with Yasmani Grandal. He has a .356 wOBA and .199 ISO off right-handed pitching. Adrian Houser dominates right-handers but has struggled against lefties, allowing a .344 wOBA, .196 ISO, and 43% hard-contact rate.
Carlos Santana – 1B – $4,100
Vs. Tejay Antone
Carlos Santana is a cheaper cleanup bat on the slate and involved in a power offense for Cleveland. Santana has a .361 wOBA and .221 ISO off right-handed pitching this season and he gets an inexperienced right-hander on the hill who throws a sinker a majority of the time. Santana has a .456 wOBA and .366 ISO off sinkers.
Justin Upton – OF – $3,500
Vs. Marco Gonzales
Justin Upton has a great track record against left-handed pitching and is a cheap bat to consider tonight hitting cleanup. Marco Gonzales is a flyball arm who doesn’t have much swing and miss stuff. Seattle has played small this season given the juiced balls are back and the Angels offense is a sneaky stack tonight.
Daniel Vogelbach – 1B – $3,600
Vs. Julio Teheran
Julio Teheran is making the start tonight and has a struggle with allowing home runs and hard contact to both sides of the plate. He is a flyball pitcher and this year the balls are flying out like crazy. Daniel Vogelbach is a cheap power bat who has a .247 ISO against right-handed pitching since last season.
Jake Cave – OF – $2,700
Vs. Trevor Williams
Jake Cave is insanely cheap and hitting fifth tonight. His strikeout rate is rather high at 29%, but Williams is not a major swing and miss guy. Cave has a .352 wOBA and .181 ISO in 194 PA dating back to last season against right-handers.
