Jerick McKinnon Longest Rush Under 8.5 Yards
One of my favorite player prop wagers for the Super Bowl is fading Kansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon. McKinnon simply hasn’t been productive lately as he has five or fewer carries and 30 or fewer snaps in four of his last five games. In the one game where he cleared five carries, he needed 11 carries to get to 25 yards as he averaged just 2.3 YPC.
Rookie Isiah Pacheco has bene the far more dynamic runner for the offense, and he will continue to see the lion’s share of the carries. In this game, McKinnon will not only be competing with Pacheco. Clyde Edwards-Helaire was also activated off IR and could steal a couple of carries. While CEH isn’t the elite runner the Chiefs were hoping for when they drafted him, he will still be involved in the offense.
Jerick McKinnon has only seen five of his 87 carries go for 10+ yards this season – that’s just one out of every 17.5 attempts. The Eagles’ defense has also been much improved against the run since adding Lineal Joseph and Ndamukong Suh. With the limited volume and reduced efficiency, the under is the clear play here.
