Around the Betting Industry
Indiana saw $436 million wagered on sports from September 1st to the end of 2019. The number rose each month from September to December, starting at $35.2 million in September before reaching $161.8 million last month. So far, 68% of bets placed in Indiana are coming via mobile, which is low compared to the two other states with mobile betting, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, who each see over 80%.
With four online sportsbooks now open in Indiana (FanDuel, DraftKings, BetRivers and BetAmerica) and more to come, The Hoosier State should quickly see the high-percentage of online bets that Pennsylvania and New Jersey see.

Today’s Odds Boosts at DraftKings
NBA: Jazz & Suns & Rockets all to win
+339 to +380
All three teams are road-favorites with Houston and Phoenix being five-point favorites and Utah being favored by 2.5.
NBA: Kawhi Leonard to record a double-double & Clippers to win
+190 to +250
The Clippers are 15-point favorites at home so that part of the bet shouldn’t be an issue. However, Kawhi’s last double-double was on Christmas. If he is going to go off, it should be tonight against a team like Cleveland.
NCAAB: Duke & Kansas both to win by 10 or more
+350 to +400
Duke is a 10-point favorite on the road at Clemson. Kansas is just a 5.5-favorite on the road against a solid Oklahoma team. After losing to Baylor in their last game, Kansas may be looking to respond with a blowout win tonight. The Jayhawks are certainly capable of blowing out Oklahoma while Duke gets a cover as well.
NCAAB: Louisville & Maryland & Texas Tech & Villanova to win
+518 to +580
Louisville is favored by six, Texas Tech by 3.5, Villanova by 9.5 and Maryland is a 3.5-point underdog. The Terrapins have to go on the road against a tough Wisconsin defense. The Badgers can’t score so if Maryland can get out of their shooting slump they can win. Villanova and Louisville should be able to handle business. Texas Tech has lost their last two but their opponents, Kansas State, is on a three-game losing streak as well. The Red Raiders should get back on the winning track tonight. This bet may come down to whether or not Maryland can shoot well tonight.
NHL: Bruins & Avalanche & Penguins all to win – Including Overtime
+340 to +440
The Penguins (-185), Bruins (-150) and Avalanche (-140) are all pretty solid favorites tonight. Boston is the only team on the road in this bet as they head to Columbus. Colorado has had plenty of rest and Pittsburgh was off yesterday. The Bruins will be playing on back-to-back days tonight. At +440, taking three favorites that are among the best teams in the league is a nice bet.
NHL: Over 2.5 goals in the 1st period of Maple Leafs vs Devils
+185 to +210
The total in this game is set at 6.5. Expecting an average of more than two goals per period based off of the total, getting three in the first period doesn’t seem too extreme.
Where Brooklyn At?: Islanders & Nets both to win
+169 to +195
The Islanders are huge favorites at home (-270). The Nets are just 2.5-point underdogs at home against the Jazz tonight. The Nets are a +125 moneyline so getting that extra +70 for the Islanders to win as heavy-favorites is a solid bet.

#3 Duke (-10) vs Clemson – 7:00 PM
The #3 Duke Blue Devils (15-1) take on the Clemson Tigers (8-7) tonight on ESPN. Duke has won their last nine games after being upset by SFA 85-83 back in November. Clemson has won their last two games after taking down North Carolina in OT on Saturday.
Duke has been one of the best teams in the country and if not for some terrible free-throw shooting (24/40) and only scoring two points in OT against SFA, they would be undefeated and a unanimous #1 right now. The Blue Devils are Top 10 in the country in points per game (83.8) and FG% (48.9%). They are also a Top 50 3PT-shooting team but they have struggled from the line this season (253rd). The Duke defense has been solid this season as well, ranking 45th in points allowed per game (62.3).
Clemson’s win over UNC isn’t as impressive as it would have been in previous years. Even UNC coach Roy Williams thinks his own team is terrible this season. The Tigers are just 252nd in points per game (68.7) and FG% (42.4%). Their defense has been fairly good this season, 62nd in points allowed per game (62.7) and 86th in opponent FG% (40.4%). However, they have yet to play a team anywhere near as good as Duke. Clemson has lost to arguably five of its six toughest opponents.
Clemson’s offense is struggling and the Blue Devils know how to play defense. The Duke offense is shooting lights out and they have quietly been rolling since their season-worst performance against SFA. The Blue Devils are going to continue to make a case for #1 with a blowout win tonight against Clemson.
