Around the Betting Industry
In just the four months that sports betting was legal in Indiana in 2019 the state saw $436 million wagered at sportsbooks across the state. Since its inception, legal sports betting in the Hoosier State has risen dramatically on a month-to-month basis. In September of 2019, Indiana saw just over $35 million in wagers. That number skyrocketed to nearly $92 million in October, $147 million in November and $162 million in December.
Indiana is benefiting from neighboring states lack of progress on legal sports betting. Although legal in Illinois, sports betting has yet to launch and for Chicago residents, Indiana is their best legal option. Indiana’s other three neighboring states, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky, all have yet to launch legal sports betting.

NBA: Houston Rockets & San Antonio Spurs both to Win
+909 to +1000
The Rockets are big underdogs tonight on the road in Utah as the Jazz are favored by 12.5 points. The Spurs are small two-point favorites on the road against Chicago.
NBA: Luka Doncic to record a triple-double & Mavericks to Win
+335 to +370
Doncic hasn’t recorded a triple-double since January 15th but he has done it a number of times this season. The Mavericks are small one-point favorites tonight on the road against Oklahoma City. Doncic is one of the few players in the NBA who can get a triple-double on any given night. The payout here is worth even a small shot.
NCAAB: Iowa to win & Over 136.5 total points
+170 to +195
The Hawkeyes are sitting around six-point favorites at most books and DraftKings has the total set at 135. Iowa has a high-powered offense that should prevent Wisconsin from keeping up in this game as they Badgers struggle to score. At home, the Hawkeyes should control the tempo in this game and score in bunches. The Hawkeyes and the Over are the two best bets in this game so why not parlay them together?
NHL: Capitals & Lightning & Maple Leafs all to win – Including OT & Shootout
+500 to +550
The Capitals are sitting at -125 favorites and the Lightning are even bigger favorites at -135. The Maple Leafs are a small underdog at -105 in what appears to be a coin toss according to the books. Two favorites and the smallest of underdogs is worth a stab at a 5.5/1 payout.

#3 Kansas (-7) vs Oklahoma State – 9:00 PM
The Kansas Jayhawks (16-3) take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys (10-9) tonight in Stillwater. Kansas is on a four-game winning streak after winning their first game since their brawl against Kansas State when they took down a solid Tennessee team 74-68. Oklahoma State ended their surprising six-game losing streak when they took down Texas A&M 73-62.
Kansas has been one of the best shooting teams in the country this year as they are seventh in FG%. The Jayhawks are a solid three-point team as well, ranking 86th in 3PT%. All of this adds up to Kansas being 62nd in points per game despite ranking 310th in FT%. The Kansas defense has been even better. The Jayhawks are 19th in points allowed per game. They defend well from both the field (13th) and from three (51st).
Oklahoma State has had a hard time finding points throughout most of the season. The Cowboys are 279th in points scored per game thanks to their poor shooting. Oklahoma State ranks outside the Top 290 in both FG% and 3PT%. Oklahoma State’s defense has defended well as they are a Top 60 team in both FG% and 3PT% allowed. The Cowboys are 75th in the country in points allowed per game.
Kansas is shorthanded after their brawl against Kansas State last week. However, they showed just how good and deep they are by taking down a solid Tennessee team. The core of the Kansas team is still there in Udoka Azubuike and Devon Dotson. This Kansas team is one of the best teams in the country and despite missing a couple of players, they should be able to take it to Oklahoma State fairly easy tonight. The Cowboys have just two solid wins against Houston and Syracuse, neither of which are on the same level as Kansas. Look for the Jayhawks to cruise despite being shorthanded.
