Around the Betting Industry
Lottery officials say there’s no timeline for when sports betting will start in Tennessee, despite the act becoming legal in July.. The Tennessee Lottery is currently accepting public comments on draft rules for the program in Tennessee. It would allow sports betting online only through vendors who decide to take part in the program. The comment period ends today.
Once comments on the program are in, Tennessee Lottery and an appointed nine member advisory board will make the final decisions on the rules. Once that’s completed, the process of creating the application for vendors will occur. The bill’s sponsor, Rick Staples, has high hopes for a March Madness roll-out.

Today’s Odds Boosts at DraftKings
NBA: 76ers & Jazz & Mavericks all to Win
+182 to +250
The 76ers are a seven-point favorite at home against the Thunder. The Jazz are the smallest favorite in this bet (-3) as they are on the road in New Orleans. The Mavericks are the biggest favorite as they are 9.5-point favorites at home against Chicago.
NBA: Nikola Jokić to record Over 30.5 combined Points + Rebounds & Nuggets to Win
+140 to +160
Jokić has been one of the best players in the NBA once again this season. He is averaging 18.1 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, putting him at about 28 combines points and rebounds per game. At +160, betting on him to go above his average by fewer than three points/rebounds is a solid bet.
NCAAB: West Virginia to Win by 2 or more Points vs Oklahoma State & Total Game Points Over 137.5
+250 to +350
West Virginia is a 1.5-point favorite over Oklahoma State. The Sooners were blown out in their last game while West Virginia blew a lead against Kansas in their last game. +350 odds is very good for a spread/total parlay and with the Mountaineers looking to rebound from a tough loss with a big win against a struggling Oklahoma State, this is perhaps the best boost of the night.
NCAAF: Miami (OH) to Score First Touchdown & Win vs Louisiana
+650 to +745
This one may be a Hail Mary but the payout is very good. Miami (OH) is a two-touchdown underdog against UL-Lafayette. If they are going to pull the upset, they will probably have to score first and pile on the points in what should be a high-scoring game. Crazier things have happened and +745 is the type of bet that may be worth a few bucks.
NHL: Connor McDavid & Auston Matthews each to Score a Goal
+350 to +402
Connor McDavid has 23 goals this season and scored in his last game. Auston Matthews has 28 goals and has also scored in his last game. Matthews has nine goals in his last nine games as well. The Maple Leafs are hot right now and Matthews will look to keep his hot shooting going while McDavid will need to have a big game tonight for Edmonton to win. 4/1 odds on the two best players on the ice to score isn’t a bad bet.
Brooklyn Special: Islanders & Nets both to Win
+500 to +575
The Islanders are small underdogs at home tonight against Colorado (+105). Brooklyn is a 5.5-point underdog on the road against the Magic. The Nets are looking to snap a five-game losing streak and the Islanders have lost their last two. Both teams definitely have a solid shot at winning tonight. At +575, the odds on this one may be too juicy to pass up.

Miami Ohio vs Louisiana-Lafayette (55) – 7:30 PM
The Miami (OH) RedHawks (8-5) will take on the UL-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns (10-3) in tonight’s LendingTree Bowl. Miami will head into this game after winning their final regular season game against Central Michigan 26-21. UL-Lafayette saw their six-game winning streak end after a loss to Appalachian State 45-38 in their regular season finally.
Miami (OH) was just 97th in the country in points scored per game (24.69). They did not run the ball well at all this season (102nd) and they were even worse passing (114th). Their offense lacked big-play explosiveness as they were 118th in the country in yards per play. The Miami (OH) defense was only slightly better. The RedHawks were below average in points allowed per game at 28.23 (71st). While they were decent at stopping the pass (35th), they weren’t so good against the run (81st).
UL-Lafayette had one of the best scoring offenses in the country this season. They were 10th in points scored per game (38.77) and they were a great run team. The Ragin’ Cajuns were the sixth-best rushing team in the country and their pass offense was average (62nd). Despite being such a run-heavy team, the Ragin’ Cajuns were sixth in the country in yards per play (7.05). The Ragin’ Cajuns should feast on the weak Miami (OH) run defense.
The Ragin’ Cajuns have a very good offense and should have no issues against this below average Miami (OH) defense. While Miami’s offense isn’t anything special, they have scored 20+ points in their last seven games. If Miami can score at least 20 points tonights, this game should cruise past the Over as the Ragin’ Cajuns should pile on plenty of points of their own. Miami may not even need to score that many with how good the UL-Lafayette offense is. Roll with the Over of 55 as we should certainly see at least eight touchdowns worth of offense in this game.
