The state House of Representatives voted Tuesday to sustain Governor Janet Mills’ veto of a bill that would have legalized sports betting in Maine. Just a week after the Senate voted to override Mills’ veto, the House fell just 10 votes shy of the two-thirds majority needed in order to override the veto. The bill would have allowed for sports betting at casinos, off-track betting parlors and online. Now, Maine heads back to the drawing board as Governor Mills’ request for the House to not override her veto so that Maine can continue to study the effects of legalized sports betting went in her favor. It is currently unknown if there will be another push towards legalization in 2020.

#16 Colorado vs #17 Oregon (-4.5) – 9:00 PM
The Colorado Buffaloes (19-5) head to Eugene to take on the Oregon Ducks (18-6) in a battle of the top two teams in the PAC-12. Colorado has won its last three games after taking down Stanford 81-74 on Saturday. Oregon has now lost its last two games after falling to in-state rival Oregon State 63-53 on Saturday.
Colorado has been a decent offensive team this season. While they are only 136th in points scored per game, the Buffaloes have the 27th-best 3PT% in the country. They also shoot well from the line as they are 74th in FT%. The Buffaloes’ defense has been very good this season. They allow the 27th-fewest points per game despite ranking just 280th in opponent 3PT%.
Oregon has been a very good offensive team as they are 67th in points per game. They shoot the ball well from three (13th in 3PT%) and they also have a high FG% (35th). The Ducks have been struggling to score points from the line as they are just 234th in FT%. The Ducks’ defense has been solid this season, allowing the 129th-fewest points per game. They defend well from the field, holding opponents to the 49th-lowest FG%.
Both teams have dealt with tough schedules with the Ducks having faced some slightly tougher competition. Oregon is one of those teams that like a slow-paced game (40th-lowest tempo) while Colorado falls in the middle of the pack in the country. Looking to avenge a loss to Colorado earlier this year, Oregon should even the series here with a win and cover in the process. The formula has Oregon winning this game 72-64.
