Kentucky sports betting is now facing new challenges. While the bill has wide bipartisan support, a series of new amendments could make it much harder to pass. A number of Republican lawmakers have attached nearly a dozen amendments to the bill, House Bill 137.
Representative Adam Koenig, who sponsors the bill, said the amendments are an attempt to kill the bill from lawmakers who opposed the original bill. Some of the amendments include much higher tax rates and others include new regulations.

California vs Washington State (-5.5) – 10:00 PM
The California Golden Bears (10-15) take on the Washington State Cougars (14-12) in a matchup of two teams near the bottom of the Pac-12. Cal has now lost their last four games after losing to Arizona State 80-75 on Sunday. Washington State is on a two-game losing streak as well after falling to USC 70-51 on Saturday.
California has been one of the worst offensive teams in the country. They are scoring just 62.7 points per game, the 17th-fewest in the country. Aside from being a bad rebounding team, Cal is just 232nd in FG%. They do shoot well from three (106th) and are also above average from the line (159th). On the defensive side, California is slightly above average in points allowed per game, ranking 153rd. However, they are 175th in opponent FG% allowed and 305th in opponent 3PT%.
Washington State hasn’t been an offensive juggernaut either but they have been far better than California, ranking 209th in points per game. However, they shoot the 20th-lowest FG% in the country and rank just 267th% in 3PT%. The Cougars are a decent free-throw shooting team, ranking 120th. The Washington State defense is similar to California in terms of points allowed per game, ranking 154th. The Cougars do well defending from three, 97th, but struggle defending from the field overall (293rd).
These two teams are equal on the defensive side but Washington State has the edge on the offensive end. California has yet to win a road game and Washington State is 11-3 at home. Cal is also just 1-6 ATS on the road. Washington State is the better team and should have a good game tonight at home against a bad team that plays even worse on the road. The formula has the Cougars winning this one 70-61.
