DraftKings Sportsbook Thursday Night Football Best Bet
This week’s Thursday Night Football is a matchup of the top two teams in the NFC West as the Arizona Cardinals (6-3) take on the Seattle Seahawks (6-3). The Cardinals have won of their last five games and are coming off of a win against the Buffalo Bills 32-30 after a last-second hail mary. The Seahawks have no dropped their last two after losing to the Los Angeles Rams, who are also 6-3 in the division, 23-16.
The Arizona Cardinals have one of the most dangerous offenses in the NFL. They lead the league in total yards (432.8) and rushing offense (168.9). Despite this, they have had trouble finishing drives at times, settling for field goals too often, or committing turnovers. As a result, they are tied sixth in the league in points per game (29.6).
Arizona’s defense was a big question mark entering the season. While they have improved from last year, they are still a questionable unit. They are 21st in total yards allowed per game (389.2). They struggle both against the pass (20th) and the rush (17). However, they have managed to allow the ninth-fewest points per game. As the season continues, one of those stats is likely to give. Either the yardage allowed will decrease or the points per game allowed will increase.
Seattle has been an offensive juggernaut this season, mostly due to the near-perfect play from Russell Wilson during the first six or seven weeks. The Seahawks need Wilson to be near-perfect in order to win. In their three losses, he has thrown seven interceptions compared to five touchdowns. Overall, Seattle has the second-best total offense (426.3), third-best passing offense (289.4), and highest-scoring offense in the NFL (32.2).
The reason Wilson needs to be flawless, the Seattle defense. They are last in the NFL in total yards allowed and passing defense. They allow the fifth-most points per game.
After losing to the Cardinals earlier this year, and losing their last two, Wilson knows the pressure is on him. In his career, he has almost always responded to situations like this with a win. The Seattle defense is a solid rush defense (4th) and the Cardinals like to run. Seattle should be able to stop the run game and slow Murray down. While their secondary is likely to get burned a few times, Wilson will be nearly perfect on offense in this one. Trust in Wilson to carry his defense yet again in what is a crucial game for both teams.
