DraftKings Valspar Championship Odds Preview

The Valspar Championship tees off tomorrow, with Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas as the outright favorites so far. Thomas is having a very strong season so far, with a couple of top-ten finishes and a strong showing at the Masters. Johnson is a threat in any tournament, of course. DraftKings Sportsbook has plenty of props and bets available now and will be updating throughout the weekend as the leaderboard starts to move.

Outright Winner Odds

This isn’t quite the star-studded event with Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas headlining. However, there are names like Patrick Reed, Paul Casey, and Justin Rose that pop off the page to the more casual fans. The top of the leaderboard could feature plenty of names that more in-depth fans will know like Charley Hoffman, Russell Henley, Corey Conners, and Jason Kokrak. DraftKings has provided splits for the top ten in handle as we head into the start of the tournament. Johnson comes in at ten, which might be because of the odds and some recency bias. Casey will be looking to win his third straight Valspar Championship.

College Player Prop

There is an interesting PGA prop that caught my eye, as there are multiple golfers from Arizona State, Georgia, and Oklahoma State. While Jon Rahm is missing from the Arizona State grouping, Paul Casey is -110 to lead that group of Chez Reavie, Pat Perez, Phil Mickelson, and Grayson Murray. Patrick Reed and Russell Henley both hover around +250 to be the top from Georgia. Viktor Hovland and Charles Howell are the favorites from Oklahoma State, but Hovland is the likely favorite at +138.

Make/Miss Cut Props

There are select golfers chose in the Make/Miss Cut section of the Valspar section. Most of these options have hefty odds to make the cut, meaning there is some value on the other side if you are not a believer in one of these names. This course is going to reward golfers who are accurate off the tee and it is a shorter course so driving distance and power don’t mean a ton here. We could see some more technical players do well here. There are still quite a few top-50 golfers in this tournament, and a majority of the names listed feature great odds to at least get to the weekend.
