RB Plays of the Week
Alvin Kamara
$8,000
Kamara is every bit as reliable as prime Christian McCaffrey, yet he is still not being priced like it. Even in GPP where you are trying to hit those low-owned home run plays, Kamara is a great value. If you want to go for it and win the big prize you need the top scorers on the week and at his price point, Kamara is a must-play. He is taking on a horrible Lions’ defense that let Aaron Jones go for 40 points. Kamara will be the #1 WR and #1 RB in this matchup. Put Kamara in your lineup and build the roster from there because in order to win a big prize this week you will need him.
Darrell Henderson
$5,800
Henderson had himself a game against one of the better defenses in the NFL. He put up 114 rushing yards against the Bills as well as a TD. Now he gets to go up against the New York Giants, who both Jeff Wilson and Jerrick McKinnon burned. I believe that at his price you cannot find a better RB play on the week. Henderson should bring with him lower ownership and big week-winning potential. If he once again gets 20+ touches in this game, then I think that you have yourselves an absolutely solid RB1 on the week.
Kenyan Drake
$6,000
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Kenyan Drake has been a bust so far these first 3 weeks of the 2020 season. Last week he had the easy matchup of the Detroit Lions and did pretty much nothing with his opportunities. He had a solid day on the ground, but nothing through the air and no scores. Well, now he gets another go at it as he faces the absolute worst run defense in the league in Carolina. I believe that Kliff Kingsbury is a smart coach and will finally try and get some targets for Drake in space. If this happens then Drake can explode and be unleashed. On paper this should be a top 3 play; however, he simply has not had one of those good weeks yet to get hyped up around. I think that this is a great home run swing for GPP.
WR Plays of the Week
Brandin Cooks
$4,500
Talk about a great value. Not many people are probably thinking about playing Bradin Cooks as he has not really made a splash so far in 2020 with his new team. However, he could not be more set up to have a monsterous week. First of all, he gets to play against the horrendous Vikings’ secondary, who will not even have Mike Hughes, arguably their best CB. Secondly, Will Fuller has popped up on the injury report again, and it is very likely that even if he plays, his snap count will be reduced. Brandin Cooks had a pretty good week against a great Ravens’ defense when Fuller was limited. I can only imagine the week he can have against a Vikings’ secondary if the same thing pans out. At $4,500 this is one of my favorite values at WR, especially for GPP.
Preston Williams
$4,500
Another possible massive play is Preston Williams against the non-existent Seahawks’ secondary. We know one thing, Russell Wilson is going to put up huge points on Miami. Now if you believe that Fitzpatrick can even somewhat keep up with Wilson, then I think that you must play Preston Williams. His value is ridiculous for his target share, air yards, and matchup. Again, GPP is all about hitting those big plays on the week and Williams is another WR that you can slot in on the cheap but has that 20-30 point upside.
TE Play of the Week
Evan Engram
$4,400
Engram is extremely cheap because, to be honest, he has been disappointing. However, the one place this Rams’ defense is vulnerable is their LB core. Daniel Jones should be looking for Evan Engram a lot in this game, and we know what he is capable of as a playmaker. With the injuries that the Giants are dealing with, Shepard and Barkley both on IR, Engram needs to step up as a playmaker. If he does that in this game, then he has the chance to overtake even the likes of Kittle and Kelce as the top scorer on the week for TEs. Again, this should be a super low-percentage ownership play, so if you do hit, you will be making up tons of ground on the competition.
DEF Play of the Week
Chicago Bears
$3,100
The Bears are extremely underrated as a defense right now. They get to take on the Colts and error-prone Philip Rivers at Soldier Field. This is a huge caveat as the Bears’ home stadium has a terrible playing surface, with grass that often causes WRs and RBs to slip. This means that when the opponent is ill-prepared for the game, the Bears can often dominate on defense. I think that this is the best bang for your buck at the DST spot this week, and just like all of our GPP plays, they have a high-ceiling to go along with their value.
Stack of the Week
Wilson ($7,800) and Lockett ($7,000)
For the second straight week, I am going with the Wilson and Lockett stack. I know it seems like the chances of hitting on the same stack, again, are low. However, Wilson is the best QB in the league right now, and it is not really close. Tyler Lockett is extremely underrated and oftentimes DK Metcalf is taking away the #1 CB for him. Of course like last week my message to you is to ideally make identical lineups, one with Metcalf and one with Lockett. However, if you had to pick one I am going with the 3 TD man, Tyler Lockett.
While, yes, this is indeed an extremely expensive stack, one of the most expensive on the week, it is all about hitting that jackpot. You need the highest scores to win and I think that with some of the other players I presented on this list you can easily stack up a roster while spending big on the likes of Wilson and his WRs.
