Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Same Game Parlay Picks
In what should be a highly entertaining game on Monday night, we can find some value in the Same Game Parlay department. Here, I’ll build a SGP featuring correlated plays from each team’s offense. Let’s get to work.
Leg 1: A.J. Brown 100+ Receiving Yards (+280) and Anytime Touchdown (+135)
I believe this game profiles as a perfect A.J. Brown breakout spot. Brown has been a little quiet to start the season, but the Buccaneers should allow him to have success. Tampa Bay allowed Justin Jefferson to catch 9 passes for 150 yards in Week 1 and D.J. Moore caught 6 passes for 104 yards last week.
The Eagles are typically seen as a run-first team, but they actually rank ninth in neutral pass rate this season. Whether that’s a result of new offensive coordinator Brian Johnson’s decision-making or simply a function of the matchups they’ve seen remains to be seen, but that will likely remain the case here.
Philadelphia will need to throw the ball at a higher clip in this game as the Buccaneers have one of the best run defenses in the league. Vita Vea is a monster nose tackle and the Bucs have one of the best linebacker tandems in the NFL with Lavonte David and Devin White. I don’t expect the Eagles to have as much success on the ground as they’re used to.
A.J. Brown remains the number one option for Jalen Hurts and he leads the team with a 35% first-read share per Derek Brown of Fantasy Pros. His 31% target share ranks sixth among wide receivers according to TruMedia. Brown had five 100-yard games last year, so we know he can hit that number.
I also love Brown’s touchdown prop in this game as the Buccaneers’ pass defense has been vulnerable. Brown has yet to score a touchdown this season, so it feels like he’s due to hit paydirt, and I like this spot for him in primetime.
Leg 2: Chris Godwin 75+ Receiving Yards (+225) and Anytime Touchdown (+205)
On our Monday Night Football breakdown video on YouTube, my official player prop pick was Chris Godwin over 54.5 receiving yards. Here, let’s take an alternate line on Godwin to get some extra juice on his prop. You can get +225 odds on him to hit 75+ receiving yards this week, a number he hit in 6 of 16 games last season.
The Eagles are dealing with injuries to their defense, including to cornerbacks James Bradberry and Avonte Maddox, safeties Reed Blankenship and Terrell Edmunds, and linebackers Nakobe Dean and Zach Cunningham. That will significantly hurt their ability to defend the middle of the field.
Godwin has a 19.1% target share and a 25.5% air yard share, so the volume has been there. It hasn’t turned into a big game – he has 51 and 58 receiving yards through two games – but I’m anticipating a breakout game for him in primetime. With how well Baker Mayfield is playing, he can certainly support it.
Godwin isn’t necessarily known as a big-time touchdown scorer, but he actually leads the team with three red zone targets so far. If we’re putting together this long odds SGP, let’s toss in his touchdown prop for the biggest possible payout. Godwin scores his first touchdown of the year here in primetime.
