Atlanta Falcons Vs. Detroit Lions Player Prop Picks
The Falcons and Lions face off this week in an intriguing matchup between 2-0 NFC teams. In this article, we’ll tackle some of the top player props to consider for this game. As always, use the player prop search tool above to make sure you’re getting the best odds for whichever prop you decide on. Let’s get to work.
Bijan Robinson Over 67.5 Rushing Yards (-115 Caesars)
Bijan Robinson season is upon us. The Falcons’ rookie running back is already showing why he was coveted so highly in the first round, and he’s just getting started. Robinson leads the NFL in percentage of runs gaining 5+yards and he’s seventh in missed tackles forced per attempt.
The Lions seem to have improved their run defense this season as they are top six in yards before and after contact allowed per attempt. I’m not sure I’m buying it yet. The Chiefs aren’t known as a prolific rushing offense and the Seahawks’ Kenneth Walker is a boom-or-bust back who doesn’t come out favorably with advanced metrics.
Detroit has the second-worst run stop win rate in the NFL per ESPN, and Atlanta has an elite run-blocking offensive line. Robinson is averaging 6.2 yards per attempt this season, and if he maintains that efficiency, he’d only need 11 carries to hit the over here. I believe he goes way over that number.
Tyler Allgeier Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+200 Bet365)
I wrote extensively in my matchup preview for this game about how the Falcons have a massive advantage with their rushing offense against the Lions’ poor run defense. Bijan Robinson is stealing all of the headlines as the rookie first rounder is already delivering on all of the hype, but Allgeier shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Allgeier finished his rookie season with over 1,000 rushing yards, but he didn’t score often, as he only had three touchdowns. However, he found the end zone twice in Week 1 and has received three of the team’s four touches inside the five yard line. Much to the chagrin of Bijan Robinson fantasy managers, that goalline role isn’t going anywhere.
The Lions allowed the fourth-most rushing touchdowns last season, so this is a matchup we want to attack. While Robinson could very well score in this game, he and Allgeier have accounted for three of the team’s five touchdowns this season.
Sam LaPorta Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+230 FanDuel)
The Sam LaPorta hype train has left the station, and this matchup sets up BEAUTIFULLY for the rookie tight end. LaPorta has five catches in each of his two games so far this year with a total of 102 receiving yards. However, he has yet to score a touchdown this season. That changes this week.
The Lions are likely to be without their goalline thumper David Montgomery in this game, which means they’re going to be throwing in the red zone at a higher rate. The books reflect that with Jared Goff heavily juiced to the over 1.5 passing touchdowns. However, with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds both questionable with injuries, the receiving options could be sparser than normal.
The Falcons allowed Hayden Hurst to score at the goalline in Week 1, and while the Packers didn’t have a tight end score last week, Jordan Love did throw three touchdowns. The Lions have a team total of 24.5 points for this game, so the books are expecting them to score at least three touchdowns. Let’s bet on one going to LaPorta.
