Fanatics Bolsters Burgeoning ‘Fair Play’ Feature, Reveals 5 Biggest Winners From 2024 NFL Season

Fanatics Sportsbook has announced three new enhancements to its Fair Play policy, which it introduced before the 2024 NFL season.

Fair Play applies to player prop bets in all major sports and takes effect when a player gets injured early in a contest and does not return. In such instances, Fanatics voids the wager rather than leaving the bettor on the hook for an unwinnable wager because of an injury.

Three new Fair Play enhancements

According to Fanatics Sportsbook, its three new upgrades aim to boost awareness of the feature, amplify the sportsbook’s value and deliver a more personalized post-bet experience.

To accomplish these goals, Fanatics is introducing:

  • Fair Play badging: Any bets that benefited from Fair Play will display a badge alongside them for bettors to see where it helped them.
  • Informational link: Customers who click on a Fair Play badge will be educated on how the feature could benefit them.
  • Dynamic language for share-a-bet: Any bettors who share bet slips that returned wins from Fair Play will now display how much the bet won and provide a reference to Fair Play and Fanatics.

    Five biggest winners

In conjunction with the announcement, Fanatics published the five biggest Fair Play winners from the 2024 NFL season

These bettors made multiple-leg parlays that included player props in which wagered-on players left the game in the first quarter due to injury and did not return. Without Fair Play, all of these parlay wins would have been losses.

    1. Fanatics Sportsbook Connecticut: A bettor won $22,027 on an 11-leg parlay ($20 wager). This parlay had two players, Jayden Daniels and Deebo Samuel, exit with injuries, resulting in a “Double Fair Play” win.
    2. Fanatics Sportsbook New York: A bettor won $4,430 on a 14-leg parlay ($1 wager) that remained good despite a Jalen Hurts injury.
    3. Fanatics Sportsbook Michigan: A bettor won $13,102 on a nine-leg parlay ($50 wager), withstanding a Deebo Samuel injury.
    4. Fanatics Sportsbook Virginia: A bettor won $7,863 on an eight-leg parlay ($55 wager) despite the same Samuel injury as No. 3.
    5. Fanatics Sportsbook Pennsylvania: A bettor won $66,000 on a five-leg parlay ($100 wager) that otherwise would have been a loss due to an Aaron Jones injury.

Fair Play a significant part of Fanatics’ growth

Fair Play was one of Fanatics’ major rollouts in 2024 to increase its market share in the ultra-competitive US sports betting market. By all accounts, it was a success.

Earlier this month, Fanatics recognized the feature as accounting for 7% of its new user growth. Its marketing campaigns resulted in over 11.9 million earned reach across all channels, including over 1.5 million impressions on social media outlets.

Fanatics also revamped its FanCash rewards program, upgraded its live betting and streaming services, and boosted its parlay offerings.

Fanatics Sportsbook launched in May 2023, five years after states began legalizing online sports betting.

As a late entrant to the market, Fanatics has had to innovate and create new opportunities to capture a customer base. It enters 2025 as the fourth-largest US sportsbook, with BetMGM ahead of it at No. 3.
