Fanatics is preparing to enter the U.S. sports betting market. The planned online sports betting site from Fanatics (one of the top sports companies in the country with a focus on team merchandise) is looking to be available around January of 2023.

The Fanatics Sportsbook platform (also known as BetFanatics) has no shortage of planning, with the hiring of former DraftKings director of operations Chris Fargis earlier this year and $700 million in assets raised for its sports wagering plans. With a new job posting just posted for the sports betting platform, let’s look at what that posting could mean for the future of BetFanatics, as well as take a deeper look at which states should expect the mobile betting app to launch.

Fanatics Hiring International Sports Trading Manager For Its Mobile Sportsbook

Although we’re still waiting for an official BetFanatics launch date, some news has recently come about the Fanatics team looking for a new member to assist its sports betting offerings. According to sports betting legislation writer Ryan Butler, Fanatics has recently posted a job posting looking for an International Sports Trading Manager. This posting is looking for someone with a primary focus on both soccer and tennis, with the International Sports Trading Manager collaborating with various third parties on pricing and data.

The posting also goes deeper into numerous other responsibilities, such as working with the betting platform team members as well as stakeholders with the company. Considering the ambitious plans that Fanatics appears to have for its sports betting platform, don’t be surprised if we see more similar job postings in the future as BetFanatics Sportsbook gets ready for its official launch.

Where Will Fanatics Sportsbook Be Available?

You can expect the BetFanatics Sportsbook to take a look at some of the most lucrative sports betting areas in the country for its 2023 launch. New Jersey is one of the top online sports betting markets, and with a $31 billion lifetime handle, BetFanatics would definitely consider the state for expansion. There are also plenty of other states with legal sports betting that BetFanatics will likely go live in, such as Illinois, Michigan, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Arizona.

The newly launched Maryland sports betting market will also be an excellent area for BetFanatics to consider, as the state only just rolled out legal wagering in November of 2022 and the platform would have the opportunity to gain plenty of new users.

New York is one of the top states for sports betting, although with a tax rate of 51% amongst other factors, Fanatics Sportsbook will likely look elsewhere. However, BetFanatics Sportsbook could definitely consider a move into some other areas that rolled out legal sports betting in 2022, such as Louisiana, Kansas, and Ontario.

And, with the platform acquiring a license in the state, Fanatics Sportsbook should enter the Ohio sports betting market, which is launching on January 1st, 2023. When BetFanatics is available, it will have no shortage of competition from sports betting operators like DraftKings Sportsbook, BetMGM Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, and FanDuel Sportsbook.
